I'd say this is the best YQ yet. Not because I can go out and buy a Boom Box right now, but because it shows I think is at the core of Q and why I admire Kevin and Q. It's the dedication to making every effort to do it right the first time despite the PR cost. As well as the desire to challenge the firearm industry norms with real innovation regardless of talking heads droning on about how KB is literally the devil or that Q is Supreme of the gun industry blah blah blah. I look forward to more cool shit from Q in the future.

Outstanding work. I got to briefly finger fuck a Boombox that was donated to a very special charity, on Wednesday October 9th, 2024. The hype is real. I'd rather have one Boombox than a rack full of ARs. My only concern is spare parts and long term logistics support. Yes I know they are built to be durable, I know they've been tested extensively. But things happen, problems crop up, parts do eventually wear out. I want to feel confident that I can keep my Q rifle running 30+ years from now without going to a custom machine shop to get the parts made.

I want one soo bad I love my Fix, mF and HBSD. I swapped my 308 fix into a 12” 8.6 Fix with a Porq Chop it’s STUPID quiet. They’re expensive guns but totally worth it.

@@michaelmaier7262 not necessarily it’s the same thing as a miniFix and HoneybadgerSD bolt gun is going to be a LOT quieter than a semiautomatic I’m gunna tell you right now I had the 308 Fix and sold the parts that paid for my 12” 8.6 and some 342 grain Gorilla subs with a Porq Chop is stupid quiet. So it depends I guess what you’re wanting to do with them I use my Fix as a hunting rifle that’ll kill anything but I’d buy a boombox to mag dump on the gram or when we go into Marshall Law. You’re gunna wish you had both lol.

I was going to get a PWX UXR, but it’s just simply dealing with too many problems it seems. I might get one eventually, but I’ll probably get one of these in the meantime. It’s just too cool

While $4400 is a lot, years back I built a custom 24" 6.5CM AR-10 with a Hardy Engineering carbon fiber barrel, with every component chosen for light weight. Total cost of the build was around $4500 as well, but was still 7+ lbs naked. First AR I've ever built myself. Shoots 1/4 MOA, by me, who is not a competition shooter at all. An expert can probably shoot 1/10 MOA, like Hardy Eng. barrels are known for. So for the same price I save another 2+lbs or so. What does Q think about carbon fiber barrels? Is it possible to get an aftermarket Hardy or Proof barrel with the AR extension on it to work with the boombox or do you use a proprietary mounting method that would need a separate extension? Be interesting to see how your factory barrels compare.

I wish Q could be innovative with a gun that shoots lighter ammunition, not heavier. The ammunition he has to use is still "clunky." I'm talking about calibers like the 5.7 x28mm the 22-TCM. In my opinion they have the best of both worlds. Diamondback has done the best so far in my opinion with the DBX-57. The gun is just 3lbs! It feels and shoots like a toy. It offers up a lot of power for such light ammunition and gun combination. I think if Kevin would put some of his talent and time into a project like that, he could make some huge improvements to a firearm like the DBX-57. Kevin believes in light but durable guns and not all gun enthusiasts like such massive calibers. It would be great if Q could extend the same type of innovation onto these smaller calibers. THEN I wouldn't mind digging a littler deeper into my pocket for my preference of calibers. But instead of sub-sonic maximize super-sonic with his "rotational velocity" theory for both velocity and power that he could take to Africa and impress people like me?

@@braydenpatterson6387 Okay, but that's a sig. they run insane profit margins, so they'll cut massive corners just to get that better profit margin. like pretty much any big company that's publicly traded. you'd need it from someone smaller, but not so small they can't ramp the production. the more you build, the cheaper it becomes to build, and the less you can get away with charging, though in most cases that just means bigger profit margins instead.
