You did me a MASSIVE favor. Metalworker and manufacture a product and need a bunch of plastic bushings to print individually. Thank you very much!!!

I like your videos - keep'em coming. I was thinking about the apparent bug causing the print time to be twice as long for the sequential print. If you check the Cooling tab of your template, I'll bet you have your Minimal Layer Print Time set to slow down the print speed. If you disable this or use a large enough model with infill, I think you will not see the problem. Let us know if that was the issue. Thanks again!

Interesting Video. Got me thinking. For an I# type printer, I would call the gantry height the distance from the bottom of the x-axis bar to the build plate when the nozzle is at z=0. 1- If that is true, then you do not have to remove anything from the build plate while printing IF the height of the object is less than the gantry height. 2- If the object is taller than the gantry height, the object need to be placed back to front ( high Y to low Y ) with a dead zone equal to or greater than the nozzle to back of print head assembly ( probably about half the y dead zone) Again, if this is true AND the print order is back to front, you would not need to remove the items during build. EDIT: Print order front to back or back to front should work. - For this to work if your model is over the gantry height, you need to adjust the gantry height to something greater than the model height. IdeaMaker in my one case printed front to back and appears to have worked. But the code does look at the gantry height, so you need to fake that if printing tall models. Thanks for this video. Very interesting.

Where do you learn all this, Im new to 3d printing with a Raise3d n2 using ideamaker, but no matter what I print I get a terrible finish on the underside that sits on the support. Thanks for the videos, this one in particular big time saver.
@fischer3d4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Lots of trial and error. I think in the support settings you need to look for the layer gap. I usually leave 1 layer gap on support overhangs. This usually keeps the bulk of the supports from welding themselves to the feature it is supporting

@@fischer3d idea maker seems to use different terminology half the time, very hard to learn. pity no online course. Would be happy to pay. Thanks for the reply.

Would love to hear an update if the time error was verified. Seems like a useful feature though double the time would be tough to swallow. Appreciate any insight.

Quick question not related to this video but it would be nice to see a idea maker video showing how fast you can make the face shields. I’m struggling with a ender 3. I have a .8 nozzle and I’m sitting at about 40 mins per.

Hi, quick question...on the Ender 3 did you include the rollers on “back to the nozzle” ?
@fischer3d5 жыл бұрын
in the "Offset from back of printhead to nozzle" dimension, yes. Probably overkill, but better safe than sorry.

Hey Marc, Could you recommand me the best slicer that enable modifying setting at layer height other than Cura because on this one there is not a bench of settings available. Specially retraction settings are not. (Just want to print TPU and test print at different settings of retraction...) Not sure about IdeaMaker . Thanks
@fischer3d4 жыл бұрын
I'll do a specific video about it soon. But ideamaker can do it. See the video below and I touch on how to change settings at different layer heights. Fast forward to about the 2:30 mark and you'll see what I mean. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH-XppRoaceieKc

@@fischer3d Yeh, Can't figure out what better options the last version of Cura offers over Ideamaker. It's even slower... Thanks fot your comment.

hi im looking for some help. i was just using ideamaker cutting a model down manually. then i went to open a shuttle model to cut it down and it Automatically cut itself into 5 parts so it would fit on my print bed! i have no idea how it happen, it was pretty awsome, do you know how to do it?
@fischer3d5 жыл бұрын
hmm. i've never had it automatically cut up a model before. i'm wondering if the file you were working with was already in pieces and it did an auto-layout of the parts. Is the file something you can share? i'd like to duplicate the experience if possible.

Hey buddy can you do an updated settings video cuz I went into my settings and messed something up lol
@fischer3d5 жыл бұрын
Is it just your slicing template that got messed up? Here's my Ender3 Profile. Just make sure you set the line width to your nozzle size. i print with a 0.6 nozzle drive.google.com/open?id=14OfAdYJxdW_mZx2WBuNurFwfKhX3ujxj
