i love this cake! Funny story behind how I was introduced to it. My wife is Jamaican and for Christmas, her mom/my mother-inlaw was baking it. She was in the kitchen all morning so didnt bother asking about this particularly but when it was finished she call me and asked if I wanted to try toto. I'm Puerto Rican and 'toto' to us is something waaaay different and vulgar. I gave her crooked look and said, excuse me? My face turned red and she asked again, I got embarrassed and she said 'you ok Im talking about the cake'. I laughed and said oh ok. Told her toto in Spanish is slang for p*mp*m. We al laughed for days on it. Now every Christmas she asks if I want "the cake that is bad word in Spanish" LOL

Hahaha 🤣 Really funny 😄 I was also told that it means the same thing in Nigeria I have no idea where Jamaican got the name “Toto” from but I know it’s delicious! 🤣

Toto is Dominican not puertorican sorry not part of the lingo at all.Chocho is a vegetable in Jamaica Chayote in PR or tayota in DR though.

@Edwin Espinoza never said it was Puerto Rican term or word. Doesn't mean Puerto Ricans don't t know what it means. Also as the host of the channel said her Nigerian friend know of the term, matter of fact, it originated from Nigeria and not DR.

You can try coconut flakes that you can buy in the supermarket. I buy the unsweetened one, throw it in the blender or food processor and grind it to smaller bits. You could try soaking it in coconut milk before using also.

Where is the written recipe I do not see it and why you don’t tell the amount of measurements that you are adding although you have the recipe for viewing. That’s the right and easiest way. You are just sprinkling things. I see that you throw in 2 cups of flour. I am an excellent baker, but just watching for the fun of it. I would not subscribe to this. You’re teaching is not professional.
