Buth what can you really do in the persistant universe i played it for two hours finished all the missions and btw all the missions looked similar!! And take a look at the aurora it is one of the first ships introduced still buggy as hell if you stand you''re head will be outside the ship.

Or do expect it, and alongside it endless delays to optimize it until it is runnable on current hardware. Pretty sure most of the delays come from them wanting exactly what they envision, rather than what is feasible or reasonable.

I don't think they have done any delay to account for the lack of PC power. The game run A LOT smoother now than before on older cards.I can run the PTU solidly with my R9 270x. A card it would barely run on before. They don't even have that many or long delays compared to any AAA title out there. It just feels that way since they have a public developement phase. They work 24/7 aroudn the globe. Most delays are simply because of the modules not behaving like they want. Yet. Downsides of programming... You can never have a perfect timetable. The two games have only been in developement for like what? 4 years? And that's not even long for the amount of work they've done so far? Rebuilding an engine, making each module separately (to save time and effort with better efficiency and optimization overall), custom designing ships while taking almost EVERY little detail into account. They wanna release a great game that will last for years to come so their vision is all that matter. Not feasibility or reason :P I do hope that, in the far of future, that 100 ship battles will be fully possible without a snitch. IT all depend on the future servers. (Quantum?)

Maybe they could use that scaling engine, mentioned at the beginning, that adjusts the level of detail based on the viewer's distance from objects. That way they can just render faraway objects without much detail or even not render smaller things like fighters or debris if they are really far away. If Star Citizen can render super huge spaceship battles like you see in EvE Online, that would be incredible.

^pretty much what this guy said. I have an i7, 16 gb ram and a OC'd GTX 1070 and that game still runs like ass and crashes and does random glitch shit all the time. I look forward to the camera smoothing that they showed off in the FPS thing a bit back. maybe that will keep me from getting motion sick from their crappy camera bobble that they never made an option to turn off.

Game's smooth as glass for me on 3 screens. Just a simple stock 290X, 16GB, and a 2600K OCd to 4.5G. Sure there are some glitches - but not enough to impede my gameplay most of the time. I'm confident the big glitches will be gone by the time SQ42 is released. The point of Alpha is to provide a playground to find problems and to see how modules react when stitched together - not to please shareholders, let alone allow shareholders to USE.

no offense taken expert but the f-18 didn't get replaced and wont be replaced by the f-22 . the super hornet will be the primary aircraft of the navy for a long time. The Airforce has no plans to build any thing past the f-35. On the personal note I always preferred the m16A2

You aren't up to date with the developement, I assume? Because developement is racing right now since they've finally come so far into the programming that they can test out many modules at once. They don't even have many delays compared to other games in the past (if you include the behind the scene delays before a game IP go public). It just feel that way since SC have been pretty public about them since the start. Haven't even been in development for that long.

Actually last time i checked, which was just a few months ago, there are only 2 people on the cinematics team. Only 2 of these video's have been produced since then; the procedural planet video, the very first one, and the squadron 42 one in the middle.

Well, Star Citizen's cinematic trailers are filmed in-engine, so unless a mesh or texture gets changed in the middle of development it's going to make its way into the final game unless it's a specific character (i.e. Space Jeremy Clarkson or the Consolidated Outland guy). So, in actuality, very few of these are going to actually be used in-game in the finished product. Most of the ships have been reworked since they appeared in a trailer.

Let's hope there will be gamers in the sense of computer gaming then. But it won't be too different. Computer evolution is about to hit the physical wall of Moorse Law in the early 20s - only a couple years from now and quantum computers are as far away from private use as ever. Graphene chips with their possible frequencies in the terahertz range also seem to be incompatible with classic digital uses. Advance in graphics takes more and more performance with any step. If you want to make a certain game look "double" as good it will already take around 4-8 times more pure hardware power. Try this on current technology in raytracing and actually want to look it good rendering and you will need a small super computer with at least 4 "racks" each with 4 CPUs and high end 8 GPUs to do it in real time. So... I don't want to ruin the mood and I could be totally wrong if the guys and girls at Intel or IBM find a way to trick physics once again and I really wish they do so but I wouldn't expect as much evolution for gaming until 2030 like we had from like 1990 to 2000. It will eventually slow down sadly. I guess somewhere at the point when memory can't be shrinked anymore and installed memory will stagnate as well as rare chip performance can't be reached anymore by just shrinking it and put more transistors on it the development will get very slow and will only proceed by optimizing what they have already. I wish they would upgrade their ship commercials and trailers once the game is done :) There's a world of difference between the recent face tech and what they've used for the Mustang commercials, or between the recent Bengal and the one shown in the Kickstarter campain. Not only it would show how far they've come, the ship commercials will also be shown in the PU, so it would be a good idea...

After the game releases, it be cool if they did a DLC known as Earth and a few other planets that are fully colonized with cities you can explore into. Story lines added to the planet would be fantastic, and would be great if they added something of that degree.

I'm so glad they put in the extra effort in making the ships at least decent looking. I'm a big EVE player, I love that game but boy their ships are flying warts.
