Range Rover Classic Restoration Part 5 | Recovering The Headlining.

In this episode, recovering the sagging headlining. A common problem on Land Rover Discovery 1 & 2 and Rangie Classic. A time consuming job, this took 5 hours but is easily within the scope of the DIY restorer/mechanic as it's not too difficult. You just need time and patience.

Could you please say more about the replacement glue, cloth and where you got it. Doesn’t seem to be on the link.

Ebay for all of it. Glue is just normal spray contact adhesive and the cloth is acoustic carpet for bass boxes. Most sellers sell it all in one listing.

maybe a brush would help with getting the most adhesive on in the corners?

You can't spread spray adhesive with a brush, it comes out of the can like a sticky string.

Could this be done with the original cloth ?.

It could but it would be hard work getting all the holes to line up in their original positions. Not only that but the original backing foam usually turns to dust.

I'm in process of doing rrc headliner and would now recommend leaving spare material around sunroof opening to attach to the roof opening as originally done /great vidio though
