If he ranks Best of all time, he absolutely can, and he has the right. He never said he ranked the greatest of all time. It just says “top 10 all time” I also prefer “best” lists over greatness because greatness is usually just opinions.

It will give a massive advantage to anyone who has entered the pro scene at a later state, because they already had so much knowledge readily available from all the players who had to figure everything out for themselves beforehand. Like legit most of what Jjonak has contributed with, no one has ever done it before him. He rewrote the entire concept of how flex supports should strive to play. And others before him, like Ryojehong who Jjonak himself looked up to, are also worthy of mention. Main difference is that Jjonak has been consistent till today and still is a top tier player. Point is, it takes IMMENSE skill to be the first to innovate and perfect at the same time. Many of the current best players haven't had to innovate nearly as much as some players before them. It's always easier to reach a high level when that high level has become somewhat standardized and meta. You learn best when you learn from someone who is better. And everyone above Jjonak on these lists have had people better than themselves to learn from for a long time, before they themselves reached that peak and then could take things a step further.

And different metas cater to different players and playstyles. So what I am saying is that the "of all time" part should hold a degree of value.

Rank the DPS in 3 categories: Hitscan, Flex, and Tracer. Tracer is her own thing and has nearly always been vital. And there are some Tracer one-tricks out there. Its okay if some players are on multiple lists.

As a Chinese OWL fan, really touched by how sideshow defended lateyoung ought to be one of the top 10. Some of his actions will be forever memorized in the Chinese OWL history, from his glorious MY career to his epic Zarya play in the hunter vs charge play in 2019, his word: "we are ready to let the world see China again" will be mesmerized as one of the most memorable moments for any Chinese fan. As a player, he has so many amazing stories and while he was shadowed by Elsa throughout 2019 to 2021, he eventually proved himself in his epic comeback in 2021 which the Hunters have achieved their highest of accomplishments. He was there in all of the pinnacle moments for Chinese overwatch and a full Chinese roster which makes him an instant top 10 for any Chinese fan. With his retirement this year it is pretty disappointed for me to see him not as the best 10 off-tank of all time but I'm still pretty happy for him as the 12th behind Crong and all the other big names, hope him the best in his later chapters of life.

The top 6 off-tanks were pretty damn perfect imo, although I think I forgot about Jjanu. You could argue that Fury/Space could be interchangeable just as much as Void/Choi depending on what you value most as an off-tank. (Was Note that bad that he was never considered in anyone's top 15 or even talked about in the least?) As for the DPS lists it seems feasable to split it into hitscan and flex based on what the player is most known for. Maybe Profit should go down as one of the best flex players of all time while Carpe would be his hitscan equivilent even though both of them are also known for their Tracer plays? It would also be cool to see a 'best of all time' ranking one day or maybe you build a 6-10 GOAT squad regardless of parameters like language barriers to build the ultimate OW1 super squad.

I love these lists so much. Honestly I felt like the lists for off-tanks were 10x better than the flex-supports, not controversial at all. The off-tank I feel bad for the most is Jjannu. I feel like the guy got the shit-end of the stick. I'm assuming he retired but idk how teams (especially the teams in shambles) didn't want him. The guy played everything including Roadhog and Ball

Personally I think you could go with projectile dps, flickscan, and the rest. Pre-determine the heroes, split it into 2 episodes and make sure that there CAN be overlap with players and hero pool.

Top 2 is definitely interchangeable, I believe Choi would be #1 just due to the fact he also made himself a great off tank to a rotating tank line and keeping such good synergy which is insane. Love these episodes!

For DPS you split hitscan and flex DPS: if they are a tracer player you put them in whatever their next 3 most notable heroes would categorize them as. You do the same for hyperflex, whatever heroes made them big or got them started is their base and they only expanded from there.

id be interested to see a pure stats ranking, and how that top 10 compares to the aggregated. like... look at all the stats rankings for 2018 (earlier if you can, too) and to find best player stat-wise, then do the same for 2019, and 2020 and 2021, and then make a final top 10 list averaging all the stat rankings lists from each of the four years. that might be an interesting metric for GOAT

I think this was the best list yet. My only quibble is Hawk, don't think he is top ten. I think for DPS Tracer should be considered a flex pick. A couple reasons: Tracer never filled the same role as long range hitscan, and I think outside of Striker/Carpe most of the top Tracers played more flex roles than hitscan

True. But by eye test, Void was considered in the top like 3 players. Not just off tanks, players in 2020. And was up there again in 2021. That is hard to do on off tank comparatively to flashier roles. I think they've been #1 and #2 for 2 straight years 100% a this position. I think it comes down to eye test and obviously personal preference. They are as close as close can come

2 dps lists, hitscan and flex. biggest criteria should be if they would play widow for a team or not. take this year of seol for example where profit *could* pull out widow/ashe and dominate, but fits was always their guy for that, so profit would be more of a flex player than a hitscan player. it could get dicey but that's probs ur best bet

Honestly part of the problem is there isn't a consensus for what factors people are using to contribute to what they consider greatest of all time. Y'all should maybe try adding criteria, like overall skill, longevity, peaks, accolades, and how they changed the game. This kinda equalizes the new/old generation thing.

Is the dps issue not obvious. Just split up the dps into projectile or hitscan before hand based on which hero type they played more often and then factor in their ability to flex onto the other role when ranking them. So just for example profit is better than yaki because they are both top flex dps but profit can flex onto hitscan at a much higher level so profit is better. Tracer and maybe sombra just fall under both categories because everyone plays her.

I think Void and close behind him Hanbin achieved the highest level of off tank in history. Apart from greatness and achievements you can’t deny they reached the highest level. Also they are arguably the most flexible.

I think you should make dps into 4 lists: 1. Flex DPS By Flex DPS i mean players who are able to flex to as many dps heroes as possible by still retaining a very high level of play. (Decay, Profit, Fleta, etc.) 2. Tracer Specialist I think Tracer is literally the only hero you see specialists to this day. This becomes obvious every year when you review a team and ask yourself who is going to play Tracer for them...its a unique hero who has some of the best players ever in Overwatch specialize in it. (Striker, Saebyeolbe) 3. Hitscan Specialist While the roles on dps continue to merge there have been and still are a lot of players who are considered hitscan specialists like Kai, Ans, Jimmy, etc. 4. The odd Specialist People who defined a single hero to a new level nobody was able to match in their own time. (Sparkle on Genji, AKM on Soldier, Sinatraa on Doomfist, Jinmu on Pharah) To me that would make the lists way more entertaining because if you dont split dps at all you probably have to weigh flexibility pretty highly which will produce a predictable and somewhat unsatisfying list.

Before watching the video, if I find out it isn't Fury I'm gonna cry. I know it's gonna end up being Choi because of rings, but Fury was always more skilled imo. He could play more heroes (*cough* Choi can't play Zarya), was probably the best Dva ever, and could play just as good of a Sigma and Hog as Choi Edit: I'M CRYING. I'm glad Void got the top spot instead of Choi, since amount of rings should not be all that matters, but come on man.

If you just look at who is the best, nothing with greatness or achievement, I don’t think you can argue with void and after void, Hanbin. In terms of achiements Choi I guess. Personally I like fury and hawk just looking at pure playing strength.

My biggest grievance with this ranking is 8th to 5th. I think it should have been Hawk, Space, MekO, and Jjanu. While the former two are extremely talented and had their best seasons yet, their accomplishments and achievements are still dwarfed compared to the latter two. Give it another season though, and it seems fair for both Hawk and Space to be ranked higher. Also, much like Reinforce, I would have put Choi at the top. While Void definitely had the superior 2021 season, Choi’s overall accolades, including pioneering Sigma, surpass Void’s. Nonetheless, I can see the case for ranking Void as first.

Its not actually simple...how do you rate someone like Striker who is probably the best Tracer of all time against someone like Fleta who can pickup most dps heroes. Are you valuing flexibility higher then the sheer ability to carry on a hero who at times wasnt even considered meta but was meta in the hands of a god? I think its pretty hard to decide.
