@elevateddronography5317 Жыл бұрын
@@loudandclearmedia Thats the downside to canon, I would think an external monitor would work. but you would have to rig out the camera a bit. I do walk through videos as well. I use a ronin RS3 Pro but man it gets heavy. Also, one of the main realtors I work with only wants vertical video, which is challenging.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'll be happy to list the gear in this setup, but be forewarned that it's likely over $10k, and there's no way you NEED a setup like that to make quality images. Thanks for this, excellent as always. The finished photos look really nice and it seems like I don't have to pop off flashes in different parts of room, as mostly you seem to be flashing pretty close to the camera. What about when you don't have white ceilings to work with, are you using a reflector?
@loudandclearmedia Жыл бұрын
Thanks Alan! Usually I can get away with one flash, close to the camera. The exceptions would be if there will be window reflections, or if the space is very large. Then I might need to do some pops in other areas. I do use reflectors (or even just white pieces of paper) sometimes if there's nothing white to bounce off of, but if the space is REALLY large and dark sometimes just shooting ambient brackets/HDR is the best option unless you have the budget to be hauling in huge strobes.

What do you do for your White Balance setting? Auto?
@loudandclearmedia Жыл бұрын
Yup. Auto white balance with a white priority. Balancing every shot would slow me down, and in most homes you can find white doors, ceilings, baseboards etc to get a consistent white balance off of if need be later.

Nice video man! I really enjoy seeing how different people set up their workflow. I stopped messing with the Canon app awhile back due to how slow it was. After watching your video I tried it on my iPad and it's a night and day difference vs my iPhone. What case do you have on your iPad? I like that it has the attach points for the peak design quick connects.
@loudandclearmedia Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have found with all tethering apps, the device you're tethering to makes a huge difference. I first noticed this while using the Sony cameras, so yeah, I'm not surprised if the Canon cameras behave the same way. The case is just some cheap amazon thing..."single piece silicone iPad case with strap" is likely what to search. I hate the multi-part cases that snap together...they always want to come undone.

I’m thinking of switching to the R3 myself. I believe one of his things with the R3 is the wifi and app stability.
@loudandclearmedia4 ай бұрын
@@wldktz1yes, that’s exactly right. The R3 is the fastest and most stabile current canon camera. The newer R1 or R5ii may or may not be better, but I don’t think anyone knows that yet.

Why do you prefer to adjust your ISO for the flash exposure as opposed to adjusting the flash power. End result is the same either way so just curious what benefit you see to leaving the flash at full power all the time.
@loudandclearmedia Жыл бұрын
Because the strobe is already maxed out. With a 200-watt light, I'm usually trying to make it MORE powerful than it is, so ISO or aperture is the only way to do that. The only times I'd want to really decrease the flash power are like in small bathrooms and such, in which case going to f/16+ cuts the flash power while also allowing near objects like countertops to be in focus. EDIT: Maybe this wasn't clear in the video, but I'm not shooting the ambient shots at high iso as well. I'm shooting the ambient brackets at ISO 100.

ISO 800???? Goes against a lot that I’ve learned about photography
@FallenDeiity5 ай бұрын
Yeah that's ridiculous for flambient. 400 at most. Also shooting at F11 is also ridiculous, probably why he needs 800 ISO for his flash. This workflow is not efficient at all.
@loudandclearmedia4 ай бұрын
I have explained both values (F11 and ISO 800) in the video. There’s nothing “ridiculous” about increasing the power of a 200ws light by a couple stops to illuminate a large space, and your practical ISO ceiling will always be dictated by your max flash synch speed, which in the case if the R3 is 1/250. I have, in this video, shown it to work quickly and effectively. If you can do it faster and cleaner, I’d love to see.
