Your videos are the best. I am delving into rebuilding a few ford and chevy transmissions. I plan on restoring several old ford dent sides and 1 chevy square body. I have been rebuilding engines for over 35 plus years. So now its time to now do a transmission. Your video have showed me that I can do this. I'm setting an area up just for this in my clean room.

Thank you for the kind words, Clayton! Sounds like you're taking the next step in your journey in tackling the transmission-that's great news! Let me know if you have any questions along the way as you get into your first rebuild.

Watched your entire TH350 build series on KZbin TV last night. Very well done! Why TH350...That's my time as gearhead...Perhaps will build one or two more times...who knows.

Regarding your blind hole puller set, do the ledges on yours protrude like a sharp 90 degree corner, or is there a 45 degree slope towards the ledge? The vast majority of these sets have a sloped ledge, which causes the collet to pull itself into the bushing rather than grabbing onto it. It wasn't until you recommended me that Kent Moore tool which had a sharp ledge that I could finally pull it out in 3 smacks no problem. Do I see it right that your set has the proper sharp edges?

Hi John, all of those pullers have 90 degree pulling ledges - I was specifically looking for that as I also have seen many that have the more gradual transition from the collet body to the pulling surface.

Good info on tooling but no links to them.

Thanks for watching...I didn't include any links to the aftermarket lip seal tools as they aren't worth the money to be honest...The OTC lip seal tools are what you want and they're out of production...Freedom Racing and eBay are the best places to find them...the OTC puller set is available on Amazon...I'll add some links in the next day or so to the tools that are in production and readily available via reputable sellers/retailers.

Are the AOD and AODE basically the same? I love the 4l60e but, this is my first Ford. Thanks in advance
@nickstransmissions3 ай бұрын
The AODE is to the AOD as the 4L60E is to the 700R4...The 4R70W is an evolution of the AODE and features a deeper, wider ratio between 1st and 2nd gear.

@@nickstransmissions do you have any contact outside of here? I would not mind picking your brain on builds that I do.
@nickstransmissions3 ай бұрын
For now, I'd rather keep all discussion here since it's visible to anyone with the same or similar questions...So if you have them, ask and I'll respond. Thanks Jay.
