Subscribed :) I get my '76 roadster back in a few weeks - it has been restored once already but likely to need some serious attention soon - these cars are so fabulous when you drive, so connected.

Hey there, Nice video’s. I just started rebuilding one myself. Sills are all pitted and some even with pin holes and larger than pin holes. But your films inspire me and are very usefull. Thanks !

Posted on another video, but just curious what sort of welding unit you are using and are you just using Moss body panels for the replacement? Overall I love the videos, liked and subscribed to all of them!

I use a Super Mig 130 which is a gas system. Yes, I did use Moss body panels however they weren't as good as I would expect but the floor panel was not a heritage one as they can't do them for mk1s. Thank you, hope they are useful.

Do you use gas when welding mate?

Did you put waxoil inside the sills or something similar?
@RebuildthePast6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I used waxoyl as I have been told it is the longest lasting.

How long did the entire sill project take you? Give or take?
@RebuildthePast7 жыл бұрын
I think, if I put all the time together, it probably took about 5 days if I treated it like a full work day.
@drsterry7 жыл бұрын
Rebuild the Past not as bad as I would have thought. Sure looks like a LOT of work. You are clearly faster then me. Still, I than you for the videos because it proves to me that I "can" do it...I simply choose not to! LOL!

very helpful video / MGC sill repacement at the moment .just worried the castle rail is parallel to inner sill .Worried all over? Mgc is slightly different as there is a cross member torsion bar mount .Old Kemppi welder now replaced with CROS ARC mig/tig/stick. using gas.
