Thank you so much for your good work. Im a 69 years old man and 2 years ago I went on a five days water fast (bad idea) with some electrolytesupp., at refeeding I had a terrible reaction that lasted months, high blood pressure, swelling, flushing, chills followed by sweating, insomnia. Now pressure is in hands I have vaculatis, bottom of my feet vasculitis but no swelling and ears flushing, very emotional. I practice a low carb diet Can it be related to a kidney acute crisis, nephrologist last fall found nothing notable.

After watching your presentation on plant-based diet and kidney disease I'm now a vegetarian. I love meat, I really do, but I'm trying to stay out of dialysis. I went from 8.2 serum creatinine in January to 6.4 in April. I'm trying hard to fight my kidney disease because I'm 28 and I don't want to deal with dialysis or transplant.

Drink only filtered water! This helps reduce the load on the kidneys because if the liquid isn't water the kidneys have to work harder.

@@happycook6737 If the liquid isn’t water, what is it. I think you meant if it’s not filtered, don’t drink it. I have a well. But the water is very mineralized. Some say that is healthy. Others say it will clog my arteries.
@tarantulady85655 ай бұрын
@@joeswartz8286happycook meant that if the liquid you’re drinking isn’t filtered water (tap water, soda, juice, alcohol), don’t drink it. Pure water is easy on your kidneys & helpful, but other liquids aren’t. Your kidneys have to work harder to remove the impurities found (colorings, chemicals, preservatives, sugar, sodium, alcohol) in any other beverage besides water.

Creatinine is normal, GFR is 58 and BUN is slightly increased. I have foamy urine, loss of appetite, urinates 3 times at night and has loss of appetite. Though I am stage 3, I have all these other symptoms. Also I am extremely tired, has increase in uric acid and pth. Nephrologist is giving me Vit D2 without checking Vit D level. Is that right? Do people in stage 3 have all these symptoms? I also have bone pain.

Hi Dr. Hasmi, wondered if you could offer some advice. My brief AKI history: 2022-AKI created Hydronephrosis in both kidneys caused by very enlarged prostate. GFR=19! Had TURP procedure and removed bladder stone. No kidney stones. Stents used in both Ureters. Right Kidney recovered to sufficent status but Left one is still severe after repacing with larger stent Final review 2/24-Left kidney is "written off", never improved with stenting. NO pain on L side. 1/24 18/1.55(51), alb/creat 55 big improvement!. Latest GFR=51 Is there anything I can still do to improve the Hydronephrosis, or just maintain from this point? any ideas would so greatly be appreciated. :)

Thank you once again for all the information you share with us❤ Can you please clarify something for me... So that means I had acute kidney injury and not chronic kidney disease since my left kidney failure was due to a medical injury after my hysterectomy but what I'm wondering is now after 1 year of my left nephrectomy my GFR is 52, does that mean I have chronic kidney disease? I'm soooo confused😔

Hi doctor, I have a question I think may be beneficial to other CKD patients as well: I am a 60 yo male with high blood pressure that has been well controlled with Telmisartan 80 mg/d. The mean blood pressure measurements are 95/60 mm Hg, sometimes they go up to 110/70, but have never gone below 90/59. I am happy with those numbers and do not feel dizziness, but I wonder if the regular 95/60 mm Hg levels are too low for my kidneys to function properly, and therefore may increase my risk of a kidney failure in the long run. I am at stage 3A CKD without proteinuria. Thanks.
@dakg8034 Жыл бұрын
I have a history of kidney stones. Tests show "a trace" of protein in my urine, and I see bubbles when my urine shoots down into the water (toilet bowl). The bubbles usually go away within a minute or so. The Nephrologist instructed that I go on a low sodium diet and also to reduce my consumption of meat (protein). What is not clear to me is if the reduction in protein will improve the condition.
@SELFPrinciple Жыл бұрын
You have to quantify the protein and see how much it is. Bubbles can be very hard to tell in most people.
@AndrewBreen-c2v Жыл бұрын
Foamy urine is a symptom of consuming too much protein, cut back on the protein and it will clear up. I'm confused about cutting out potassium, wouldn't you want to do the opposite?

Extremely high stress and/or trauma causes kidney failure as well. This happened to my husband. He was perfectly healthy and in a single day he had (after almost 3 years of extreme stress) 6 strokes and went into complete kidney failure. He was immediately put on dialysis. His urine output was great and still is. Please do everything you can to keep your stress levels in balance.
