Thanks for this! I was so confused about how to cinch the hood, I thought I got a defective jacket that was missing the clips to secure the hood. Very helpful!

Thanks for the review. I'm currently in the REI store in Delaware watching your video, and looking at the very jacket your reviewing!

Now that we'll be entering fall shortly, I saw this jacket. I like layering so I just bought this. For $50, seems like a great deal.

only issue is very slightly clammy feel to inside sleeves if you have a short sleeve shirt on inside it. Other than that it is the best combination of features. Love having a separate collar from the hood so when the hood is back and down it doesn't hit you in the back of the head.

thats the one thing I want more... the Adidas Wandertag jacket (gore tex version and climbaproof version) has taffeta lining on the sleeves, it feels awesome, super nice jacket for the price. A little more wrinkley on the outside though. Still deciding which to keep.

Great review! How is the wind resistance on this jacket? I need a waterproof/windproof jacket for Iceland, but it looks like this would be great for general hiking as well. Do you still like the jacket? Found you in the REI website. Well done video! Thx!

Hey David, thank so much for the extra info and well wishes! I plan to head to REI today to hopefully find this jacket, or at least figure out which size I need and order it online. Maybe pants too. We're going ice climbing in Iceland and I'm excited. Hoping for a little adventure (but not too much!) and some A+ Aurora Borealis viewing. Sounds like a soft shell is definitely the way to go. Cheers and I wish you more good pics and adventures!

REI has this jacket on sale in certain colors for 7995 and I was looking at it as I was debating whether I should get a rain jacket. I think you have sold me! Do you still like it?

What size did you get? I have a similar build as you and considering getting one online
@DavidWahlman5 жыл бұрын
Hey argmax11, I got a small and it works for me (5'10", 145lbs), even sometimes when putting over other layers. Good luck!

Are the seams of this jacket taped?
@DavidWahlman4 жыл бұрын
Hey Joe, yes, all the seams are taped on the inside. Jacket seams, zipper seams, and anywhere that a stitch punctured is taped.

fit - is a large a large?
@DavidWahlman4 жыл бұрын
Actually I'd say it runs a bit bigger. For almost every jacket or shirt I own I'm a medium and this jacket is a small, but fit's like a medium, maybe even a small large. So I'd size up one, especially if you're layering. Hope that helps!
