Often on shoots I take frequent breaks to "check the gate". Which in the days of film it was a pause in the filming process to make sure the film and reels were running correctly. But now, what I do, is check the content recorded, just to make sure everything is focused, sound is recording correctly and its always a good idea to revise what's being done. I make sure to always run a time check on the content being recorded and make sure that every 10 to 15 minutes of recorded content there's a break to make sure everything's good. I'm not sure if this helps you. But it helps me.
@reinascully4 жыл бұрын
I do that as well (with my camera, not audio) but as the person on camera as well it really fucks up my flow. Can’t really check my audio unless I go upstairs and transfer it through my computer which I really sadly can’t be doing while recording 😔😩
@SzandorXint4 жыл бұрын
@@reinascully it 100% kills the flow. But I always remember the reason I do it. Museum shoot, book tour, author from another country, hours and hours of footage. Just by chance the author wanted to see what we got. And we noticed audio being cut off. Wireless mic had a broken cable. We went thru everything picked out the questions with bad audio. Recorded again. Guy went home happy. From that moment on, I always take breaks.
