Oh my gosh! THIS video was right on time for me! I was occupying my time while I waited for the Color Oops to process on my hair. I just got out of the shower after rinsing my hair for about 25 minutes. It did it's job. My hair was at a level 8 when I took it down to a level 5. I did fill my hair before I went dark though 😊 and I got a nice result, but just a touch too dark for me. So, here I am deep conditioning my hair while commenting on your VERY helpful video. I'll have to see what level I ended up with after I rinse the hair mask off and dry my hair. I'm not sure what color I should try next. My skin is fair, but leans olive with a with a warmer undertone. According to my color analysis, I'm a True Spring, but none of the hair colors my color analyst suggested seem to jive with my skin. 😢 Stawberry blonde and golden blondes are no bueno with my skin. I think that I was on to something with a darker color, I just haven't found a level and tone that suit me. Thanks for the video!!❤

Thank you Thank you!!!! For the honest talk about bleach. There is a certain KZbinr (will not mention the name but will just say she cals herself 'the blond girl') who actually calls bleach 'color' because even though she uses bleach she hates the word because it has (according to her) a negative connotation. Bleach is the clear OPPOSITE to color! And there is nothing wrong with that!

Literally, bleach removes color. And if you are using bleach it is no longer natural since you have disrupted and poked holes into the very hair follicles themselves, which without getting too deep into science, is why people's hair will take such a loss. I have used a lot of bleach also, only about 20 years of experience and had fantastic results and was able to nail specific effects relatively easily within the 1st or 2nd try. :) I still find it funny how people who bleach their hair call themselves blonde. It's the most hilarious thing for sure! Right on Christian.

Great tips thank you so much, I never knew that about Bleach being weakened by the peroxide, could be a reason why it sometimes doesn't lift enough when highlighting. Could you just skip the bleach part if your say, going from black to light brown, or dark blonde? Thanks for your time 😁

You’re most welcome, glad they were helpful. I do have a dedicated video about ratios and the effect they have on lift here on my channel. You could - but colour remover always lifts very, very warm, it’s to do with the way the molecules are deposited in the hair…if you don’t bleach (generally) they would have to want to be copper.

So first, thank you - your videos are always very helpful and easy to understand. I like coming back to them ❤ And then I have a question, and I know "remote diagnosis" it is not so easy but the topic of color lifting/removal just made me wonder. So my natural color is a dark brown, maybe a 3 or 4, it has been bleached and colored a lot, the last color was a demi-permanent red - now a brass brown mix with my roots growing in dark 1-2 cm. (Shoulder length hair). So to be lower maintenance I would prefer to go with my natural dark color, but have a blonde money piece. So, would you recommend putting dark color over everything and then remove color/lift the parts I want blonde or should I leave the parts I want blonde out and color the rest of the hair separate? Does any of this make sense? 🙈
@theworldofcraig2 ай бұрын
You’re most welcome, thanks for watching, so glad they are helpful. I would perhaps take out the pieces you want to lighten, get them well out of the way - then do the dark - then blonde afterwards.

@theworldofcraigАй бұрын
Hi Sofia! Thanks, glad it was helpful. I’m not sure of what you’re asking exactly? Your client wants it all lightened, then highlighted? I would start with a strand test on the underneath to see what lift you’d get first.

A funny story here from years ago and warning about effasol. I mixed with water in an applicator bottle to remove demi permanent color as instructed. I'm a former hair dresser so I should have known better than to toss the bottle still half full into the trash after I used it. Later I retrieved it out of the trash and as I was doing so it exploded and effasol shot straight up blowing the cap off onto the ceiling which remained blue until I repainted the area. I believe the pressure in the bottle built up as the effasol expanded.

after I use the color oops over black, can I use blonde box dye? Would it even work?
@theworldofcraig15 күн бұрын
That’s a big question, which I can’t answer remotely, to many different factors.
@susankelemen72932 ай бұрын
Thank you, Craig! I am a newbie to home hair color, transitioning from using ash blonde box dye a few times, to one "whoopsie" which caused it to go medium brown with a touch of red, close to my childhood color. My true color now is totally grey hair. My question is, if I want to go back to medium natural ash blonde, how am I going to do application of the color displacer "precisely" to the very back of my head??😭😭😭😭😭😭 And quickly? (Or was that step 2....) Using 3 mirrors, I can see, but moving your hands in 3D is daunting. Any ideas on how best to do this? Or am I stuck? 😢
@theworldofcraig2 ай бұрын
You’re most welcome. That’s a really tricky one to answer remotely I’m afraid. Even though I’ve put this together and am an advocate for home colour, removing it yourself is A LOT. The sodium oxy remover would be simple to apply (step one) but it will make your hair very, very warm….so then it would be a battle to lift that out.

What if my goal is a copper/red do I need to do the bleach process also? Since the color remover is going to leave it warm

hi, i had lots of black (and red and purple whoops) box dye on my hair and thought that bleaching it would get rid of it, so i bleached once and used an ash blonde hair dye (with bleach in it) on my hair as my friends hairstylist said that the green would somewhat couteract the reddy orange. the roots and ends of my hair are a perfect blonde but the middle section is an orange brown colour which im not a big fan of. to fix this would i just need a colour remover or have i totally screwed it up ?
