Parents as you are teaching your young children about the do's and dont's of life always include something, age appropriate, about the importance of voting. I remember my parents teaching me. I am in my early 70's and there was never a time I did not vote, and I have always been excited to vote. Our children are our future. God bless them. 💙
@ruthhenderson5413Ай бұрын
Did your parents take you to the polls with them on voting day? Mine always did, and children were welcomed there with civic coloring books and crayons. Volunteers kept an eye on us and gave us pep talks about the "someday soon" when we would be allowed to vote ourselves. That was in Washington, DC in the 1940s. Always a family day.

I respectfully disagree. Max is amazing, but he is the exception and certainly not the rule. I've had the misfortune of meeting some GenZ'ers and I have seen enough content online where they're asked simple questions on the street. Let's just be kind and say that they are anything BUT eloquent, well-spoken, ambitious and altruistic. I've seen GenZ'ers stumped by basic arithmetic. I've seen GenZ'ers unable to name even a single continent despite America being one. Shocking stuff. No interests whatsoever, unable to speak, seemingly brain-damaged, that's the norm.

In Scotland they call them NEDs. Non-Educated Delinquents. They're education averse, they avoid any form of personal enrichment and would stay at home on election day just to make a point, that point being that they only care about porn and the opinions of their influencers. And let's just say, they're not influenced by Nobel Prize laureates. Einstein or Sir Isaac Newton are not their heroes. Their heroes are Kid Rock and Lil' tRump.

I am always impressed by Representative Frost! Along with voting & helping with the election, I love Frost's recommendation to get involved with a local group in advocacy. This is so important to remain engaged & help move our country forward. It took me a long time to realize the immediate impacts politics had on my life - and the lives of everyone. My involvement started with my field of childcare, then moved focus to environmental / climate impacts to help retain a livable future, then local & national politics. Amazingly, local organizations have vast influence on all these issues. Even climate action is fundamentally a local issue. National policy is extremely important, but often enacting it comes down to our own cities & states. If everyone finds something they feel passionate about, and can commit some amount of time to it on a regular basis, it will make a world of difference. Thank you for your amazing service to FL and our nation, Representative Frost! I truly appreciate your critical work as well, Marc Elias. Your keeping citizens informed is making an impact in combating massive amounts of misinformation!

In the interview with Democracy Docket, Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost discusses how Florida Republicans are implementing voter suppression tactics, especially targeting young voters. He highlights the various methods Republicans are using, such as restricting mail-in voting and adding unnecessary hurdles that disproportionately affect marginalized communities. Frost emphasizes the importance of keeping young voters engaged and actively involved in the political process to counter these tactics. You're right that cheating and undermining the democratic process is a serious concern, especially when it comes to voter suppression efforts aimed at limiting participation in elections.
@Victoria-i5k1dАй бұрын
Voter suppression IS illegal, for decades the Republican Party has been doing this what does this say about them, their party have been ripe to become a fascism party. They keep calling it the party of Lincoln, do they know Lincoln only freed the slaves for two reasons (1) because Europe was leaving in America behind in modern industry. (2) civil war was on Lincoln needed soldiers freeing the slaves to fight in his war was a great idea. Noticed he NEVER gave them equality a necessity to survive better instead after centuries of building America many of them were kidnapped and sold back into slavery in parts of the southern states. The rest had no rights and was treated less, their lands were taken many had to return to working for the families they were slaves for earning very little living like slaves though free. To this day their offspring’s still fights for equality in a country they build up and make strong yet are seen as foreigners in their homeland. Lincoln did this, the Republican Party did this and is constantly attacking not only the black Americans but ALL Americans even the white supremacy themselves. The only Americans who benefits from the Republican Party are the RICH.

Need "Get out the Vote" drives on Florida's high school and college campuses. Help them with transportation to the polls. Unfortunately, Florida is definitely one of the places that makes people wait it really long lines. I live in WV now, but the last time I voted in Florida was for Obama. I waited in line for 5 hours. They wouldn't even allow us to use the bathroom. We had to go across the street to a local restaurant and use theirs.
