thank you. while i'm an antiquate handyman, having direction on which bolt to remove and the order makes all the difference in the world. finished in less than 15 minutes. one user got it right, thanks for not putting annoying music on this video. people want to hear from you, not some noisy annoying sound. i'm going to look for the timing belt video of this. i paid someone to do it last time, they did not do a good job. they did not change the front seal. ack! i'm going try to tackle this next time. since i've never touched struts before, so i know i'm going to need some help/guidance on it.

Hi michael. Love the video. What brand alternator woyld you recommend? Are duralast, carquest, or napa, or oreilys alternators ok to use? They have limited lifetime warranties which is a good thing! I called Toyota and they wanted a little over $300 for their alternator with only a one year warranty 🙄🥺

Thanks for watching. Out of the ones you mentioned, the OEM Toyota is the best…however…only 1 out of 100 people will go that route. Let’s be honest, us remaining 99 people end up purchasing an aftermarket alternator and we would strongly recommend the AutoZone house brand (Duralast). Great warranty and the case/housing is very likely an original OEM Toyota…meaning someone returned their faulty OEM alternator that came from the assembly line during the manufacture process of car and gave it to AutoZone for the core. AutoZone then sends it to the facility that rebuilds the alternator. After they rebuild it, they send it back to the warehouse or store so people like you and I can purchase it. You will be very pleased with the Duralast. Please keep us posted. @DIYwithMichaelBorders Update: I managed to get it on but had to romove the entire alternator. Once I had it on, though, I had even more trouble screwing the alt back in. The belt was the correct size, and it was installed properly, but it was just an awful experience.
