Please make sure you check your bands before you start this workout! Look for small holes or rips. It's the worst when a worn or damaged band snaps on you! Hi Lauren, You really do have a wonderful program, selection, manner and way of caring. I am 82 and have recently had major foot surgery but with your sessions my fitness is returning and your sessions every morning for the past month have given me a whole new sense of purpose and achievement. Another amazing chair workout, Lauren! I did all of your chair workouts and I think this one is going to be my favorite. It’s been few months since I started working out with you and I regained a lot of flexibility and strength. I was bedridden until recently but yesterday I was able to walk 4K! I couldn’t believe it. You actually accomplished the impossible - you developed a workout I actually ENJOY and look forward to doing. DIdn't think that would ever happen. This is such a great workout to do while traveling. So long as you have your computer or tablet you can access the channel and stretchy bands weigh nothing so packing them and carrying them in baggage is a snap. Thank you!

So there I am, minding my own business really into this workout, focusing and got a serious resistance going on, pushing those arms out and **** SNAP**** ...... After my heart came back down in my chest from my throat, I be like ... nice,,, real nice....so paused video till I found something to sub with. Gotta get new straps. Im gonna feel this workout for three days or more I can tell. Good stuff !

I always overlooked workouts on a chair. I hate chairs which are the cause for many health issues, don't need them with my workouts. But today is sooo hot in Athens and we are having a long lasting heatwave... So I decided as I wear in my shorts and barefoot to sit on my chair and grab my band and do a light workouts (this is what I was thinking..). Little I've known! Wow! Oh i underestimated this! haha they look easy but don't be fooled, i worked up quite a sweat! The excersizes both explained how to go about the same are too good. You are simply superb. Will add this in routine. In my case my left hand and leg is very weak. Any suggestions exercise to strengthen the same. Awaiting reply thank you so much. You are an angel in disguise ❤

My pleasure 😊 I would suggest adding a few more reps or sets on your left side. That way you can try to build more strength on that side and even things out. Also, making yourself do some of your everyday activities with your left hand will help as well. I'm assuming that it's your non-dominant hand/side. try to train yourself to reach for your cup with your left hand, open doors, cupboards, pet animals....

Another great work out. Question: suggestion for holding band (I have dupuytren's; hands hurt stretching the band)

Thanks Shirley! a few thoughts about your hand position: maybe gently wrapping the band above the wrists so your hands don't have to grasp the band. Also, perhaps a band with handles? That may also be easier to slip your hand through. Or, forget the band all together and do the workout with wrist weights instead. I hope that helps. So sorry you have to cope with the pain, but good for you for staying active!

Hi Lauren. I'm enjoying the exercises with the resistance bands - although from the pack of three I bought, I can only manage using the one with the lightest resistance - so far! 🙂. I have a question - when I start to do the leg exercises, lifting them or pushing them out etc, I tend to get cramp in the hip of the leg I'm lifting. Is this a technique thing, is there something I can improve?

Great question Elizabeth! It sounds like your hip flexors are kicking in and taking over during the leg exercises. It will get better as you get stronger. I’d like you to focus on really using the leg muscles instead. You need to use some of your body’s own resistance as well. Really squeeze the top of the leg (your quads) trying to straighten your knee all the way. You want to use the quads and not your hip flexor to lift your legs. Sometimes just thinking about what muscles you are using will help! Also, make sure your core in tight. Even though these exercises are seated, your core actually helps left/move the legs as well. I hope that helps!
