Actually some deals are quite good (eg iPads are usually discounted $100+ ... you’ll never see a discount like that any other time of year aside from Black Friday/cyber week... Apple products are heavily controlled by Apple and they don’t let resellers like target or Walmart discount them without approval- it’s also why you won’t see their tablets/phones/iPods/watches clearanced out like other products... they go back to Apple... recent movies get heavily discounted- we’re talking $2 for a newer movie that’s usually $10-$15... if you buy 10 you’re saving at least $80... and very recent releases for $10, usually like $20-$30)... and some stores offer freebies or giveaways... you just have to know how to wade through all the 💩 ... deals aren’t as good as the past, but still can be worth it if it’s something you can use and aren’t just buying to buy (honestly I just check out movies from our local library- it’s free and uses less resources as everyone is essentially sharing, but if I really like a movie, I’ll buy it... and BF is a good time to do that)

At my store, we were dealing with a lot of theft at the time so everyone was on high alert. I decided to organize the clearance section because it was right near the dressing room (where people typically steal) . So I begin to pick up clothes that have fallen on the ground and I see white shorts and suddenly I smell something horrific. Someone peed in their white shorts then threw them into the clearance section, and then stole a pair of our shorts. Mind you it was summer time in a badly air conditioned store.

In fairness to the people asking for a bathroom - obviously, they were incredibly rude and the store wasn't obligated to offer them use of a toilet (as that guy said, it made it really easy to steal stuff from the stock room). BUT a lack of public bathrooms is actually a huge problem in many Western countries. In the UK, more and more of them are closing because funding cuts for local councils means they can no longer afford to maintain them. Just imagine, if big companies that hold Black Friday sales paid their fair share in taxes, maybe we'd have more funding for public facilities people could use all year round 🤔

Then Saturday we all go together and I cut down a Christmas tree my wife picks out at a local Christmas tree farm. Be an adult people.

My first time working Black Friday to New Year's Day, traumatized me so much. I stopped working in that industry five years ago, and I still have a hard time celebrating because people are psychos. But, therapy helped. People on the street would say, "Merry Christmas" and I'd want to say "Shut up" or "Go to hell" in return. I don't do that. And I no longer have the urge to tell every child that Santa isn't real and there is no joy in the world. I do, however, suffer from minor agoraphobia that heightens around the holidays, but it's getting better. Yay.

The guy in the Blue shirt basically mentioned everyday going on at a store downtown. We've cleaned poop, throw up, everything you can think of, just because they can't use the bathrooms. People do drugs in our fitting room

We have Black Friday in Canada but nothing like this happens. People are respectful and kind of to each other.

Caught a virus and had to call out of work for Black Friday. I physically feel miserable, but I will count it as a blessing.

luckily the one year I worked at WalMart I was going to college too so the one big day of the week with my classes were on Fridays so I had it off, Thank every spiritual being you know of it, I was a truck unloader so I did have to move all the Black Friday product that came in towards the build up of the day, so was interesting to find places to cram it all in the stock room

That’s bc all Canadians shop in America EVERY DAY BRO... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 FACTS - y’all cross the border on the daily to get better prices stateside (aside from the like 1% that don’t live on the border... but those ppl also don’t really have shops period) 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

I always hear these stories and made me SCARED. This year was my first year going and I went at midnight and I had a great experience. Lines weren’t bad and everyone was respectful and I live in NY. 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve been Black Friday shopping since 2012 and it has NEVER been as bad as its made out to be. I’ve worked 3 at one of the most prominent stores and it wasn’t bad at all (other than working for 16 hours straight). Even as a shopper, ive stopped to help others find what they’re looking for 😂 maybe we’re just more friendly in Texas

I live in Canada and we went to a store to get my fitbit on boxing day. My bf was driving and someone was backing up out of a spot so my bf puts on his blinker. This guy on the opposite side blocks the spot saying he's backing into it. My bf says, "Dude I had my blinker on you didn't." He wouldn't budge so my bf just took a different spot. Most Canadian fight I've ever seen lol. No yelling, no honking, just a convo and drove off

Black Friday is so crazy I have so many stories of con artists trying to literally steal in front of my face at the cash wrap
