An additional consideration may be, if you do want to get more power without an engine swap, there are plenty of supercharger or turbo options for the 3.6 that will definitely put it above and beyond the 2.0 T. I run a RIPP XL on my 2016 JKU and do really like the power it added to the 3.6.

I'm glad to see people like the 2.0T. I probably would have given it a thought if the manual was available with it. I chose the Pentastar bc the manual. I have the 2 door sport soft top and driving it is very fun. Lots of pep in this little suv and the clutch and stick are very light. My 97 z3 clutch is twice as hard. I love my JL!! And my mileage hovers around 19-21 combined. 50% city 50% highway 75mph driving, so not bad at all for being the perfect combo of suv and convertible 😍 I could squeeze out 27 28mpg feathering the gas to 55mph if I have to, but I regularly do medium high acceleration to 5500 rpm in 2nd and 3rd 😇😇 I love my JL!!!! (Did I say that already?)

I test drove both about a week apart before ending up with a 3.6. The 2.0L felt just fine, a bit peppier in the city but the exhaust note was just awful merging and passing on the highway. I went with a left over 19 so I could get it in Mojito and it happened to be a 3.6, it wouldn't have bothered me if it was a 2.0L.

I'm shopping and torn - like the performance of the 2.0, but worry a bit about all the e-torque complexity and potential issues down the line compared to the reliable 3.6. An issue is the need to use premium for good performance - there's ton of price difference in my area, maybe $12 every tank, much more than you would save with 1 or 2 better MPGs. Not that you buy a Jeep for mileage or speed, but I'm thinking of all those premium dollars burned over the lifetime of a vehicle.
@Dochorahan2 жыл бұрын
Power is close enough and good enough on both. I will prefer V6 for sound and linear power, and better reliability. Turbo engines will always be stressed a little higher, and have more points of failure (the turbo), and the V6 3.6 is very tried and true. It's been around forever and has been refined. You never have to worry about turbo maintenance on the v6 3.6. Both are great engines though.

@@Dubya_Tea_EfffThe 2.0T stock has 33 more FT/Lbs of torque. The v6 is slug 2 door, 4door whatever CJPP had a modified V6 going against a stock 2.0T that’s not a fair test. The only cold air box I’ve seen actual dyno numbers showing a real power increase is the Holley InTech for the 2.0T A blow off valve , oil catch can are not going to do anything for power so I have no idea why he even brought those up. It was an unfair comparison from the start, stock for stock the 2.0 wins from a dig with its 33 more ft/lbs and it’s only 10/15 hp shy of the V6… so it would also win from a roll. The torque is where you need it when off-road and crawling too down low.
