Spent near a year paying therapist after therapist to try and help me deal with this, non of them helped. Stumbled across stoicism and it helped me to not interact with my thoughts, now everything just breezes over me without acting on the debilitating image. Fundamental OCD techniques are founded from Stoic Philosophy.

Love this video. Thank you so much for being so clear. I have RJ of my boyfriend’s past. He was involved with women who were very sexual. They were also marijuana cigarettes and alcohol users. One was high functioning alcoholic. I have always been responsible and goody two shoes. I questioned him a lot about why he could have long relationships (5&7 years) with these women. He was the one who eventually broke up with them. I could understand why I need to put them in a box labeled “scums”. And the struggle For me is he could live with them for a long time, he must be “scums”. I am now with him what does that make me. I will spend next 21 days switching out my thoughts to my exercise routine because that’s what I love to do. Thanks again

Have you had experience with clients with RJ who know about the past, able to be indifferent to it, but then years later during a rough period in the relationship triggers it to a significant level?

That’s totally my case. I’m with a woman I love for over 25 years, 20 of marriage, parents of beautiful teenage kids. This woman has declared her love and adoration for me practically since day one. I knew everything she told me about her past relationships and to be honest it never bothered me or gave me any kind bad emotion. I was absolutely indifferent to that. However, all of a sudden this thing started to first bother me then created huge anxiety and then all that follows in terms of asking her questions driving her crazy with my horrible mental pictures and that. Obviously everything is sexual. This is hell in my mind. What worries me the most is that things that I practice like meditation and exercise are not working as they did when confronted with anxiety. However I know I will overcome this bad present. That for the video an the good question!

Thank you, using the tips I give in most of my KZbin videos but the biggest thing that helped was the therapy that I am currently trained it. It is a combination of hypnotherapy, NLP and CBT.

do you have experience with childfree clients that have RJ and where dating a single dad ? I am a childfree woman and was dating a single dad and all my worries and intrusive thoughts were driving me crazy about his children his ex wife and how it would affect our future. He was great partner but it drove me to break up. I actually wish I could have made it work but don't know how

@@overcomingrelationshipanxiety just in general. She already told me she’s fine with questions. I haven’t mentioned anything to her anymore. But I’m still battling with images and thoughts. I feel in the moment I don’t want to burden. Her anymore. But not sure who to talk to about it and I’m just starting to try yo do other things to focus on like you said in videos. But man I’ve been battling. I feel like I do good then just fail again and feel stuck.

Hi Eva, question for you - is it really retroactive jealousy or is it conflicting views on sex/monogamy?
@overcomingrelationshipanxiety

Are you having conflicting views on being monogamous in your relationship now? So for example do you want to be monogamous in your current relationship and your partner doesn't?

@@overcomingrelationshipanxiety I would say more about their past - I personally only believe sex is to be shared with one person in that moment (not a threesome) but my partner has had a threesome before with 2 men. Is this a conflicting view or retroactive jealousy? It’s hard to see it for what it is currently.
