Not only cool music videos, but a full ITRN KEXP session, you have 5 songs there too... You'll have a lot to dig of this record P/D: Glad you highlighted that comment :D

To be honest, I'd recommend BK3000 after rats if you wanna look at cool music videos, each song has one. However, some songs might not be up your alley, but it has it's moments and is an amazing album in my opinion!

Glad to see you finally made it to rats nest! This was the album I first heard from Gizzard. Also, something that I think would be interesting for you to watch is the synopsis video about King Gizzard by the KZbin channel Middle 8! They did one back in 2017 but they recently released a new one that’s up to date. Have fun with the rest of the album man! 🤟🏽

Finally! Props to you for holding off for so long being a metalhead and enjoying PetroDragonic Apocalypse so much. I like the production of this album as it is. Thrash feels more authentic if it's a bit dirty 😁 Next track, Mars for the Rich is one of my favorites not only because of the music but also the lyrics. Actually, the lyrics of this album are brilliant in general. I know you won't pay attention to them anyway 😂. You can do the live KEXP for Mars, it sounds almost identical to the studio version.

This song was released as a single before Fishing For Fishies, and then was developed from there into the full album of ITRN while they finalized and released Fishies.

next song might be their best metal song period, definitely do the studio for that one, certain parts dont work as well live for that one

I do like Amby and Joey shouting ”EARTH FOR THE POOR” in the live versions

@@khalewren2734 yeah but the delay parts before the chorus kinda messed up live

as far as I see you're a true blue Gizz fan now, part of the ship, part of the crew. Someone outta send you a Gizz T-shirt or something anyway, Mars for the Rich is gonna be hectic, you could either listen to the studio version or there's a fine, pristine KEXP live version to choose from too, up to you

I've heard this album many times but this is the first time I've seen this video. The look on Stu's face after the first shot made me laugh out loud literally.

Hey man. You’ve probably already seen it but King Gizzard put out a documentary called Ratty about recording infest the rats nest.

Yes! 🤘🏼 I just noticed that the bass line in the beginning of the music video (during the hammer-ons and all that) is different from the one in the album (sounds better in the latter, in my opinion)

You should listen to Intraterrestrial by New Age Doom. It’s a microtonal prog rock song with jazz mixed in. The intro riff kind of sounds similar to King Gizzard.

Glad you're finally getting to their other thrash metal album. I recommend listening to either Fishing for Fishies or Butterfly 3000 after this one for a total tonal shift. Those albums are both amazing. I think Fishing for Fishies might be my favorite album of theirs.

Alright, Rats Nest time! I didn't really dig this record when I first heard it, but I wasn't in a metal mood at the time. I absolutely loved it on my second listen. Most of the album was recorded with just Stu, Joey and Cavs. Stu and Joey on bass and guitar (depends on the track) and Cavs of course on drums. Eric (2nd drummer) was still in the band, but he really only played on the albums sometimes, a lot of the time Cavs just plays 2 drum parts. The credits of Paper Mache Dream Balloon say "Eric Moore: nothing". Next up is Mars For The Rich, which was one of the first King Gizzard songs I ever heard. The KEXP session is really good. And one more thing, I dont really mind the mixing of this album. Its important to note that the music video of this track is a lot less grainy than the album version, but even then I still don't mind it. Then again, lots of my favorite King Gizzard albums sound like they were recorded with paper cups as microphones.

I absolutely recommend watching all five tracks from the KEXP session. I'm sure it's a conscious decision of the band not to play the songs for which they shot the official video. Only "Superbug" is left to listen to the studio version. The sound production from the Seattle studio is fantastic. You've already watched "Self Immolate," but when the time comes, I think it's worth watching the live version from Remlinger Farms. The video versions are somewhat distracting with their plot and take you away from the music. Besides, Cav's solo is an argument to include this track in listening to "ITRN". I'm curious about your opinion about the album, although I haven't met anyone who didn't like it. A monument to old school metal.
