I just got back from Rome yesterday 11th Jan) and the temperature was 15-17c, a bit chilly at night. The sales were good. There wasn’t as many pilgrims and visitors as I had thought. Booked the Vatican museum through the Vatican website, no queue, just turn up at the time on your ticket. Staff very helpful and informative. The streets were still decorated with Christmas decorations and lights and was lovely to stroll through on an evening. Go to the Basilica of St Peter in the evening as there were no queues! If you’re sightseeing alone, be aware of people trying to sell you things at landmark sights, in particular around the Colosseum as there seemed to be less police presence. I had one follow me on an evening and heard them talking on his hands free, which spooked me as I felt I was being followed… best tip go into a hotel or bar and book a taxi to get away from the area and visit in the day or with others. They seemed to hit on people who are alone and taking pictures… a big tourist characteristic! Apart from that one situation I felt completely safe day and night and the locals are so welcoming! Enjoy if you have a trip soon!

I'm here this weekend because of seeing you talk about how slow it gets after the 6th. I took a tour of the vatican based on a recommendation from another of your videos. It has been an amazing weekend. I'm doing one more day of sightseeing tomorrow. Your videos have been such an amazing help!

Come back just before Christmas, brought the flu back with me ,lot of it going round over so wear a mask if you go in very crowded place like we did in the Vatican,i didn't wear a mask hence i caught the flu and it ruined my Christmas, the day after i got back all the symptoms kicked in, luckily i really enjoyed my holiday without any symptoms so that was a bonus😂.PS definitely book your tickets in advance if your going to any of the main sights 👍

I was there Christmas and returned NewYears Eve. The weather was beautiful 50s-60s midday and mornings 40s..layers layers.. I was there in June this year and was crowded. And December, it was so crowded! But amazing!!! I ❤Roma. Had plenty of cappuccinos after 11:00am! ❤

Cant wait for your march video, I’m going to be in Rome in early March and you have been an incredible source of information so we can have the best trip, thank you so much! ❤ We want to do a day trip and were thinking of Tivoli, Orvieto or Florence, which one would you recommend? I’m leaning towards the countryside because we will have visited a lot of cities for the rest of the trip in other countries and my family is not crazy about art ☺️

Thank you so much for making such an informative and helpful video . Also, a big thank you for the much needed info on public restrooms in Rome ! I think your info is one of the best and most clear ones I’ve come across . I’ve been reading about how 2025 being the holy year, and Rome expects even more tourists and pilgrims and in general more crowds than usual ….. we were really hoping and planning to visit sometime this year . What would your advice be ? Is it better to hold off until 2026 ? If we decided visit this year , Is it possible to have a pleasant experience inspite of the crowds ,& be able to see the main attractions ( advance booking for sure ) . Would really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks 😊

Very informative video, thanks 😊 Regarding restaurants in Rome, we are planning to reserve ahead for Dinner for all 6 evenings during our visit to Rome in 3rd week of March 2025. My question: Is there anyway we could avoid poor service or any snide remarks by restaurant staff? We re Indian & we have faced poor treatment by a few restaurants in Vienna & Innsbruck Austria last year due to our skin color..Although we had no such issues in both of our trips to France or in Amsterdam, we are very apprehensive abt this issue during our upcoming 20 day trip to Italy( Rome Siena & Florence). This would be our 1st time in Italy. Just want to mention that We only choose to eat the local cuisine whichever country we travel to and we specifically Avoid Any place that serves Indian cuisine. We just want to avoid discrimination coz it can ruin the most important part of our Holiday, thats meal times (we travel to eat) Thank you
