Malachi: Man... there is as real engineering science used in that 1140... and you operate it with grace. Damn, Ive reached 98% completion on my Semi Wrecker model, had to redo the lower rear / back section of the Wrecker to incorporate the doors / compartments, as well as the Low Swivel Arm (that Ive managed to copy about 90%. Ive devised how to make 3 different wooden pivot / hinges just for the Low Swivel Arm). Now.. I have a error in my execution of the hook used at the end of the Boom. Have to always remember its cable wrapped around a pulley attached tightly by a D ring of sorts from the end of the Boom, around the Pulley to another D ring on the Wrecker itself. It only took me 2 weeks of staring at my Hess Truck Fire Engine Ladder vehicle (with the Ladder that goes up and down) to convert that hydraulic motion into wooden dowels... I have to figure out how to do this... I think I'm going to take a screenshot of 45:04 and stare at that for a bit...

When your transporting the trucks like that your suppose to take the rear mud flaps off,there getting destroyed on the pavement
@master66763 жыл бұрын
Or you can use a large zip tie to curl them up off of the pavement. In Louisiana each truck is required to have flaps in place. This driver had already preped for the delivery , axles, temp bake lines, temp lights, protective sails, etc.
@rdththth2 жыл бұрын
The delivery driver has done much of the prep work before the wrecker arrived. The temporary air lines for the brakes have been removed, and the factory brake lines have been reconnected. Parking brakes for air brake trucks are activated by a coil spring internal to the brake chamber. The parking brake comes on by default when air is released from the system. For transport, the parking brake system is rarely used on the towed trucks. The brakes are "caged" by inserting a special bolt into the parking brake chamber to hold the parking brake off. The parking brake will not work again until the cage bolt is removed. The parking brake needs to be off while the truck is being lowered, so the truck can roll backward just enough to keep the wrecker cable plumb. If the parking brake is uncaged before the truck is on the ground, then the wrecker cable will swing forward as the front of the truck is lowered to the ground, possibly allowing the cable to touch and damage the hood and grille. The shorter the wheelbase of the truck, the greater the risk of damage. When the front of a truck is lifted onto another for transport, the transmission lubricant will no longer cover the front bearings. The axle shafts are removed to keep the transmission from burning up during the trip. This driver has already replaced the axle shafts before the wrecker arrived. During transport, the air line that inflates the air springs of the axle on the ground must be disconnected or else the automatic leveling valve will eventually bleed the air bags flat. A temporary air line is connected between the two air springs, and it contains a Shrader valve. The line is pressurized to inflate the springs to the proper level for highway travel. Upon delivery, this line is removed allowing the air springs to fully deflate. This prevents the springs from hyper-extending as the upper truck is lifted off. The factory air supply line will be reconnected after the truck is on the ground. Mud flaps, in one form or another, are required to be in place during transport. A large zip tie is placed over the mud flap to curl it up enough to clear the ground. The driver has already removed this tie before the wrecker arrived. The flaps will clear the ground after the air supply line to the springs is reconnected.
