@@RicArmstrong There are many facets to federal LE brother, you could be a criminal investigator for the EPA, work at ICE (politically affected), or be a FPS police officer making over 100K a year. Sir, you don't have to apologize for doing your job. We, too, are experiencing this in Dallas. It's getting so bad my guys don't want to call the police even for the serious stuff. I have decided to outfit all of my officers with Bodycams. I plan to send these videos to Internal Affairs when officers conduct themselves in this manner. I'm literally tired of it. As a RETIRED POLICE OFFICER, it's very disturbing to me that officers are treating security personnel this way. When I was a P.O., I saw security as a great resource, instead of a nuisance. Hopefully, knowing their actions will be review by IAD will slow a lot of this disrespect down. If this doesn't work, the Media is my next stop.

In Texas our criminal trespass warnings hold up and i'm in houston. We issue written criminal trespass warnings as commission security officers and the district attorney accepts them with no issues because it's state law. Also, we detain those subjects after they return back to our property and never face any issues with law forcement or district attorney.

The bad experiences I've had usually involve them showing up late, if they do show up. last time I had to call them it was to trespass someone and it took 45 minutes for them to come, by then I had to leave the site. Here's the kicker though, the police station was less than one mile away, it was close enough that if I had arrest authority, I could have literally walked the guy to the police station and back in the time it took them to get there.

Working security for years now m I've met so many rude cops. The amount of unprofessional trash cops is crazy to me
@MrBrandonCaley5 ай бұрын
Honestly, I would have found whatever phone number I could find for their police department and report them for said rude interactions and would help you a lot better if you got the video evidence (body camera) to show them how your experience was. If you also have previous experience with the department like those two officers say, that is another factor in a possible report on their conduct. What I am saying mostly is that the problem doesn't work itself out unless there's true evidence or someone saying something. Now on the flip side as to their attitude, maybe they're dealing with other life matters whether they are dealing with it personally or as a police officer; maybe they were on a call that wasn't the most pleasant like a murder scene, r**e scene or something they might have had to do something a week or so ago that put them in the attitude you saw on your scene with them. I believe as long as you were as professional as you could be with them nothing is really against you. Then on another note they're just intentionally rude, which if I can still get them to somewhat resolve my issue even with attitude then I'll bite my tongue. As a final bit of this thought, we are all human beings with emotions and being a police officer for how ever a big or small area (city, county, state, Federal) is no easy task for anyone, which I'm sure at times you may think the same as a security officer/guard at times. What to do with this is up to you.

Back in 2021. I was in working a temporary rural family dollar store contract in northern New mexico. It wasn't that isolated, but it wasnt near a big city or town either. Just a cluster of historic unincorporated neighborhood Community with alot of drug problems. Early evening a had a couple of Staties pass by and check out the area, and they were very kind and professional. A few of hours go by, and later i had a couple of local sheriff deputies come out and they spotted me. And I appraoched them after they cane on property and was very polite and professional. The ended up treating me like i was a criminal, didn't think i was actually doing security for that store. Illegally searched my vehicle and questioned me by repeatedly asking stupid questions and then calling my supervisor the next morning. Than she calling me pissed asking what happened and i explained to her. Then she was frustrated because they called her like a dozen times and questioned my validity in doing security for that location. I was like jeez, talk about corruption at its finest.

I think they run everything that is 5 o’clock they have no grounds on that property that is what you call very stupid unprofessional I don’t know what the hell they got from I’ve been a security guard and bodyguard over 10 years. I would then buy a car boot off of Amazon for like 30 bucks and if people I ask to leave don't I would threaten to boot them. That's unfortunate. The positive part of me wants to say, "maybe they are having a bad night and they are just slipping," but even if they are, they should maintain a professional bearing. Maybe they are burnt out. The sad part is they said you should join up while showing those kinds of red flags - that should remind you - you definitely made the right choice. Could you imagine having to work with those two on the daily? (assuming that's how those individuals operate every day - yikes) If anything, they are anti-recruiting for the department, making their own jobs harder. Either way, not much you can do, unless you want to file a complaint... but in your business you have to worry about relationship... and if those two are bad apples - they will likely retaliate in some way shape or form, making your job even harder later on. I'm guessing they don't have body cams with aggressive behavior like that... Policing is suppose to be about building a civilized community, solving problems/helping people, having interpersonal relationship skills, and - of course - deescalating when possible. Maybe you need to record them too with your body cam, that way you can protect yourself from the eventual lawsuit that will come from that kind of aggressive interaction.

Hey man great content! Got a question for you. Can you open carry in public as a G Officer while in uniform and on the way to work? For instance if I were to stop somewhere before work, is it legal to open carry? It’s apparently illegal to conceal it in uniform and it’s illegal in Florida to leave it in your vehicle. So what are we supposed to do? There doesn’t seem to be a clear answer for this and I get a different answer each time. I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this. Thoughts?

Commander, I had a situation like that, and I have a very strong, reputation, good reputation with Miami Dade Police this officer who came on site somewhat like that instead, he was more concerned about me, not having my own back up end of the day you really have to set the tone with those guys as much as we don’t like to do it sometimes needs to be done so that way when they do come back to the property on a service call, they know that you’re in no game to be played with. What I did is talk to another officer that I knew well on their shift and they went ahead and talk to that individual officer on a one on one basis, giving him an opportunity to change his attitude. The next time he showed up well that really didn’t work. He responded again to a different call And asked the officer that I had working. The site was working and then proceeded to mouth bad negative comments about me to my Officer little did he know that my also had a body camera on. At the review and the footage I decided to go straight to the Sgt, and now I don’t even see that Officer anymore. This was approximately six months ago, since then, every single officer comes to my site gives mutual respect, so setting the tone and my belief is important. If not, they’re going to take you like everybody else.
