Swamp....? I gotta admit that term made me chuckle. I don't think it's accurate, but I can't think of a different term either. XD

@@SamuelR007 Words like rabbit hole. In Japan, being unable to break free from a passion is said to be ``trapped in a swamp,'' which is similar to a ``bottomless swamp.'' 😁
Thank you for the Japanese subtitles. I always watched your videos, but my enjoyment was half because I didn't understand English. I am very grateful to you for the subtitles. Your love and reaction to Band-Made have made our Japanese fans very grateful to you. I am looking forward to Japanese subtitles in the future.
Thank you Ryan, This is the video where I first saw you. The English you speak seems to be correct even when translated into Japanese with KZbin subtitles. Thanks to your comments and explanations, I now know what BAND MAID is doing and why it sounds so good to me. This gave me an opportunity to consider their performance, and for the first time in my life, I began to think about each member of the group individually.
I am happy to see this video, which I love, in Japanese. BAND-MAID is a great band that brought back the real enjoyment of music for us in real time.

Thanks Ryan. You can almost see the moment you became a Band-Maid fan. lol So nostalgic to look back and realize you didn't even know their names yet. Did you think you'd see them in concert multiple times at this point? lol Great to see. 😃

And the translation of my comment from 2021.

This is great! I love the old version of this live mv, it sounds heavier and has a clearer bass sound, too. Love it. As the latest live mv doesn't have the same quality, this means a lot, especially to the newer audience.

To be fair, there are lots of technical/proggy bands out there where one should/needs to listen to each member induvidually to fully appreciate what's happening musically. But a lot of them can't write SONGS (Champ pointed this out explicitly in one of his first reactions) that even non- musicians appreciate without even understanding _why_ .... and the reason IMO is the arrangement and song structure. The Maids fire on all cylinders.

I wonder if Miku watched the original reaction and heard something you said and it stuck with her for many years until turning it into a powerful message for a new song. check out what Ryan says at 1:39 ;) cool seeing the OG Ryan, still no BAND-MAID posters or T shirts yet but that would soon change lol

It wasn't your first reaction to Band-Maid, but this is the one that started all and change your life forever... who could imagine that a group of Japanese ladies dressed as maids would have such an impact on the lives of people living on the other side of the world?, this band is something else I can't help but smile everytime i watch this video because it's quite clear that this was love at first listen, and most B-M fans can relate to that feeling 😆

And that bird po pigeon girl person with the funny guitar is really cute and the scary ice coffee girl with the legs that reach all the way down to the ground can really sing too! This brings back memories when I didn't know their names either! 🤣😂😜

Thank you for responding to this song after a long time, it was a very fun response. Misa really stands out in this song, but I love how Kanami plays various riffs so hard in the background. Yes, of course everyone is aware of that.

Bryan mate! Kudos for adding the Japanese translation! I am sure many Japanese will join the ranks of your followers! Incidentally, the same translation is pretty good (I should know as I am a professional translator! LOL)! You certainly opens possibilities to reacting, and many of your fellows will be thankful! Best regards, Robert-Gilles

Still say this album should have been rock album of the year that year. Sheer genius.
I'd already watched this reaction like, a zillion times, and now I've watched it a zillion and one times. If there's a Reaction Hall of Fame, this deserves to be in it. We can literally watch you fall STRAIGHT down The Pigeon Hole and it's....AWESOME! Great idea on the new Japanese subtitles. VERY cool! As always, thanks much Ryan! 🕊

MISA is the bass player of cool bass lines, damn she's good. She's my favorite bass player as well, before it used to be John Myung of Dream Theater. I play my basses with new inspration from listening to MISA 🙂
