Even when a good woman leaves or is left by an unfaithful, abusive etc.. man she can still feel awful because of the loss. But I think the reference here is to women who let themselves go during the marriage and then glow up later to find the next man! Some women do feel good and look good after leaving an awful marriage or relationship that made them look bad and feel bad.

Speaking from experience… when your in a relationship with the WRONG MAN it depletes your energy… emotionally, physically and spiritually. Resulting in you not being the best version of yourself. I’ve made all the poor choices in regards to my choices in partners. I’ve also spent decades with absolute narc. I’ve self reflected but, still have work to do. I don’t want to be the same woman who chose poorly. I want to get accustomed to healthy men. I 💯 feel that she is correct and I I will listen to her until I know I am ready to be as responsible to myself as I’ve been to badly raised men. I can’t be responsible to a well raised man as long as I’m not too old for one. If I end up alone the rest of my life then so be it.

I would appreciate a happy medium, because even though I’m not in her culture, I have a very high regard for respecting my partner, and being respected by my partner, and I would not have secretive conversations let alone even entertaining the idea of getting together with an ex, unless he already Had been approved by my current partner to be around socially. But I also come from a background of parents who are therapists, and usually the only reason that I would have contact with his ex or with my ex would be that someone needs to finally get real and get straight about some thing that happened in our history where there’s going to be apologies made and everybody is in on it, and knows what the purpose is. I know that some people would have a lot of questions about that, but it comes from a place of want to be clear and straightforward not to get ego, stroked, or to find an escape route from my current partner. I feel empowered by being a straight shooter, who is very lit up and excited about monogamy. Call me strange I don’t care.
