It gives me great pleasure on occasion to do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and all this on regular fuel not premium. Sam has used this car on many of his drag races with surprising results. BTW I will be 74 years old this year, not bad for an old guy who still enjoys the passion of driving a fast car.

Just test drove both back to back yesterday.The Camry is quick, handles well (quite a surprise), has a spare tire, looks cool from the front, and has AC vent/USB for back seat passengers, but more engine and wind noise. And yes, it can feel cheap, especially in the back seat. The Accord on the other hand, feels more refined, but definitely also bulky and a bit too big for my taste. It is quieter, and the hybrid system works more smoothly as well. The interior definitely has more of a luxury feel with probably better build quality. However, there's no backseat AC vent or USB port or spare tire. Accord also is more expensive for comparable trim. One note about seating position: I'm 5'7" and much prefer the visibility of a Camry. I can see how things are different if you are taller, but that's just not me. The point is that it heavily depends on what's more important to you. I myself remain undecided.
@dianewilson74156 ай бұрын
For the Accord, the top two trims (EX-L and Touring) have back seat AC and USB ports. I have a 2023 EX-L hybrid, and I love it.
@phtevenmolz50305 ай бұрын
I have now driven both and am definitely going with the Accord. The Accord has the rear vents and USB on the two highest trims. It also has Active Noise Canceling in the cabin for the Touring trim, as well as some stuff like an awesome HUD, driver assist features that actually function well compared to the Camry’s LKAS specifically, and the entire interior is objectively nicer. There’s also the other concerns of Toyota actively and openly selling all of your driving and interactive data, even after initially denying it.
@jeffjo87325 ай бұрын
I haven't tested either, so I don't know explicit details. But here are some suspicions (and yes, I am a Honda guy). I can't believe there is no _ventilation_ in the back seat of the Accord. There may be no adjustable vent, but did you look under the seats to see the ventilation ports? Maybe I need to "test drive without intent to buy." The spare tire is missing in the Accord because, in a collision, it becomes a missile aimed at the HV battery. That's why it is there in the 1.5T trims, but not the hybrids. It has nothing to do with weight or price. Honda cares more about safety, even in rare cases, than the negative press. But if you want one, it is east to add non-OEM. When trying to compare trims, I find that Honda publishes easy-to-read tables listing individual features down the left side, with check marks in the columns for the trims that include them. Or maybe a more complete description for a feature that varies by trim (like "17 inch aluminum" or "19 inch alloy" wheels). Toyota lists categories on the left, that you may have to expand individually to see what is included. For example, the "suspension" for the XLE says "Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar; multi-link rear suspension with stabilizer bar, [*] and front strut tower bracing." I added the "[*]" to mark the spot where the XSE's description adds "sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs." Honda would list these four segments individually. My point here is that Toyota seems to want to make it hard to tell the differences between these feature sets - I had to mentally "pencil out" what was common between them to find the difference. And this happens a lot. And finally, the columns for Toyota's trims often have a symbol that means"available." The feature can be _added_ to the trim, with a significant _added_ price that in not included in the price you may have compared to Honda's "comparable trim." The word "available" does not appear anywhere in Honda's table - the price at the top of the column is the price for that trim, with _all_ the features implied by that trim. For example, Honda's $34,875 "SPORT-L" trim includes a moonroof. Toyota's "comparable" $34,600 XSE trim (whether you agree this is the comparable trim is not my point here) does not - I don't think any do, but I can only compare three Toyota models at a time and I'm not going to dig deeper. It is included in a "package," and the table does not include the price for that package. Going to the "build my car" page, I see that it costs $1,330 more. And while most people will buy the moonroof, the figures they advertise for headroom do not include (it is in the table). My experience, when I last shopped in 2018, was that I soon grew frustrated with the way Toyota hides the true price, so I could not compare prices easily. Going to the dealer didn't help, since I had to look at each car on the lot to see what it did, and did not, have. Their selection did not include the full array - usually including more packages than I wanted, and making the questionably "comparable" Toyota trim more expensive.

Most buyers in this class seek a car that balances durability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, with durability being the top priority. A 1.5-liter turbo engine cannot compare to a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, which has proven reliable from the previous generation. Serious drivers, like taxi or Uber drivers, would choose the Camry, while more easy-going drivers over 40 yrs might prefer the Accord. The Camry is sure to outsell the Accord.
@jeffjo87324 ай бұрын
This seems like a classic example of a conclusion drawn, and the reasons supplied when and if they support that conclusion. The 1.5L turbo is only in the lower trims; the higher ones have a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine with a hybrid system. If you look at unbiased reliability ratings like KBB and JDPower, the Accord has proven to be more reliable. Taxis choose the Camry for the sole reason that Toyota supports fleet sales, while Honda does not. Uber drivers prefer more spacious - especially in the back seat - Accord.

I also test drove both back to back and found the Camry to be much more comfortable and smooth. I much prefer the seating position of the Camry. Although I didn't go tugging and pulling on all the parts in either car, I prefer the dash layout of the Camry over having the screen sitting on top of the dash. They make absolutely no logical sense. I have been noticing that just about all the car manufacturers are putting these ugly wagon wheels on the higher trims. This is making it very difficult for the consumer who understands this. For most sedans 17 inch wheels would be sufficient fitted with a 50 profile tire to protect your investment from road damage.

Excellent review. This will help keep the Toyota dealers at bay when they try to gouge people with ADM's and Dealer installed options. Their cars are not all that and more. It's interesting the different opinions and experiences people have with these two cars. I have a 2018 Camry LE Hybrid and love it. But I watched a German KZbinr review his 2019 LE Hybrid (same car) and totally pick it apart. He found things wrong with it I had no idea were even a problem, and still don't to this day at 128k miles. But with all these varying opinions and experiences on these channels, we are armed with a lot of foresight and information when choosing a new car. My advice is to watch all the videos on these cars you can absorb and then test drive them, armed with knowledge to make the best decision that works for you.

I would love if Honda could make the front end of the Accord to look a little more like the Civic for a mid cycle refresh. Also if they could replace the fixed headrest in the back seat for adjustable ones and for crying out loud put a map pocket behind the driver’s seat!!!! These are features that my 2010 Accord has and it drives me crazy that the new one doesn’t. I couldn’t care less for the panoramic roof or AWD so I’m good with that. Overall I prefer the styling and the interior of the Accord and now, thanks to this video, also the fit and finish. I have driven neither of them yet but, based on all the reviews that I have seen, I think I would prefer the more refined driving experience of the Accord.

Started with a 1980 Corolla; best car; no problems for 85k miles. Then replaced water pump for $25 myself. Sold car for 60% of new after 7 years. Son owned a 97 camery and was another great car. Since then I have owned Accords. Their interiors are nicer (less cheap) but not the deciding factor. The big negative is the Dallas market where all Camry's & Corollas (assume other models also) arrive with high priced add-ons like scotch guard, pin stripes etc adding on another $1000+ cost. It is a non-starter. Honda dealerships purchase mostly higher end trims getting additional revenue this way however I tell them to give me a call when they get a lower end trim...which has worked (like end of quarter when they want to make their numbers).
@podunkis9 күн бұрын
The Accord would be a no brainer if it was hybrid only across all trims. I specifically don't want larger rims, a sunroof, or leather, but I definitely want a hybrid. Only Honda has withheld the hybrid option from the more basic trim package. The is particularly odd because the 17-inch rims would get better fuel economy, a primary selling point for hybrids. I've always preferred sedans, but I'm starting to look at SUVs now since they don't make an Accord I want and the Toyota looks to have its own set of compromises.

One important factor that most reviewers seem to not talk about is the battery warranty . The Toyota warranty seems to be better , while at the same time the honda system puts more focus on use of the battery which I think would most likely to put more wear on the battery quicker. The AWD should give you a safer and better handling car. Yet the honda has more interior space...and some say easier controls. Very difficult decision to make???

The Koreans have have invested billions here for the same reasons. Not disparaging Korean models made here but still believe Hyundai and Kia made in Korea are better.The upside to the Korean brands is that a good many are still Korean built.Its just a question of knowing your models and your vin numbers.
