As a Texan, I’m constantly commenting on and advocating for some element of heat and spiciness be added to some of his dishes: jalapeños, chipotles, Tobasco, cayenne pepper, or something. I advocated for sautéed jalapeños on the last “Samburger” he made.

When I make Monkey bread, I use Cinnamon Rolls instead. It saves the step of the sugar/cinnamon mixture and coating. And instead of white sugar for the coating, I use brown sugar. It really does caramelize better. As a bonus, when it is done cooking and still warm, I spread the icing over the top. It's the best MB you could ever have!!

His passion for food from all across the world, his non-aristocratic appreciation for fast food, street food, and just general enjoyment of life inspired me. @@JerryB507 I found them looking up ideas for building a canoe. Then I got hooked. Yes, doing some of those recipes they have done on the show are great. I do a lot of cooking over flame so Townsend is great for ideas. Unfortunately where I live I don't have clay without digging real deep or I would of built an earthen oven.

Sam, I’ve been following your burrito episodes recipes and they are absolutely blowing my tastebuds into space. I use a nonstick pan to “grill” the marinated meat and burrito and it comes out better than any damn restaurant I’ve eaten out at. Much love from TX!
