At least that's the vibe I got. She was trying to intimidate him. Extremely pathetic if you ask me and that lady was out of line, needs help really. Especially since coddled or not, the GoPro was the reason this whole instance was caught in the first place. The father has patience. 🙏🏻 If the lady has an issue with kids riding bicycles on the sidewalk she needs to attend the HOA meeting and try to get the board to deal with it. @@davidnuttall-y7l Actually, almost all people are allowed to ride bicycles on a sidewalk, provided that they respect pedestrian traffic ... unless there is an ordinance in the area that specifically prohibits that. When they do so, however, they are subject to the rules as a pedestrian. For example, a cyclist can't be on a sidewalk, encounter a "don't walk" sign and cross against a "don't walk" sign even if cars going in the same direction have a green light. Similarly, they are not supposed to weave in and out of the street/sidewalk to gain the favorability. For example, a person traveling on the sidewalk and encountering a "don't walk" can't then hop the curb into the street to get the favorability of the cars on the street with a green light.

Where did you get the idea she's 80? The video and any articles I've seen don't refer to her age - she looks 60ish to me, which is bad enough. She's dressed like a 17 year old. It looks like she was chewing out those other kids - probably for riding on the street or shouting. She was probably already wound up. While early onset dementia is possible (if 80 it's not early onset), it's more likely she's been washing down her anti-depressant SSRI's with box wine and has an overblown sense of entitlement. In other words, a Karen.

It may be better but it's not legal. I can't tell you how many times arrogant kids on bikes and scooters have run me off the sidewalk or even hit me. This city unfortunately wasn't built for bicycles and the attempts to fix this have just made it worse as bicyclists have gotten arrogant and stupid in their behavior. I'm not excusing this lady finally losing it, but the kid didn't belong on the sidewalk especially when he can see pedestrians in his path.

@@InNeedOfMoisturizer Yes, kid's can safely bike on a residential street if morons are following traffic laws. But, kids can find parks and trails to bike on if their parents are afraid. This has nothing to do with Karen's. It has to do with an entitled mentality people have now that they can break the law if it suits their needs. If you don't think the streets are safe, then pay for proper bike paths in your city. But, the kids need to stay off rhe sidewalks especially when people are using them to walk on. I don't need as a Senior to be forced into traffic because you can't properly raise your child. My point wasn't about the woman's over the top reaction but to counter all you entitled people thinking your kids safety is any more important than the people on the sidewalk. It's against the law for a reason. Do you let your kid bike all over the mall walks when it's clearly posted that they cannot?!? There's a reason cops and security are constantly shooing away skateboarders and cyclists all the time. It's unsafe and can get them sued if they ignore it. If you don't feel it's safe for your 12 year old to bike in the street, then perhaps he's too young for a bike. All I know is that I biked in the street at a younger age than 12 all the time and my parents taught me that it was against the law to bike on sidewalks. So when as kids, or even adults, we did, we yielded to the pedestrians. Today, it's] forced to be the other way around. It's one thing when it's on a quiet cul de sac, but this nonsense goes on busy city streets now. If it's not safe for the bicyclists in the street, how can you can expect a pedestrian to move there to get out of the bicyclists way?!? You're the Karen's too, not just this angry neighbor lady.

@@MrBawdry I wasn't discussing the woman's angry response. But, as a person whose job takes him on many sidewalks during the Pandemic I was shocked to see how bicyclists, scooters, and skateboarders have taken over the sidewalks. I've had too many close calls to count and was knocked into restaurant patrons one time, and the entitled kid came back to admonish me !!! when I barked at him to stay off the sidewalk. This boy was doing 25mph on a scooter and thought he had the right of a way on a sidewalk. And it's because of your selfishness and entitlement that he thinks that. It was hard to blame the kid after I realized when talking to him he had no clue he was in the wrong. YOU are to blame and other parents who cultivate this attitude. Maybe this woman just finally had it with being run over countless times in front of her own house. I don't know the situation other than what was on the video. How many times has this happened before?!? Teach your kids right from wrong, and if it isn't safe for kids on bikes in the street, it certainly isn't safe for kid and adult pedestrians to be forced into the street to avoid them

The HOA’s in these neighborhoods sometimes have rules about no bikes on sidewalks, but it seems like it’s just her rule. This is one reason I’d never live in an HOA. The people who live in these neighborhoods do so for a reason. They don’t like kids, strange color houses, only want to live in a quiet neighborhood with perfect grass height. For people like this woman, a senior living community may be a better choice.

Mann i remember when we were kids being able to ride around on sidewalks after school was a blessing. Football, soccer, hockey, football all played on the sidewalks and streets after doing homework. Neighbors loved it cause it kept the streets lively. Till this day one of our senior neighbors keeps a hockey net and basketball net in front of his house for any kids who want to play. Good thing young man had his GoPro on and recording. Parents handled the situation well.
