One question - I already have experience blogging specifically, and instead of content I want to do copy. My experience has been little to no pay for content blogging. How do I find clients for copywriting blogs??? The last thing I wrote for content, I was paid $15 because it was based on number of views. I don’t want to end up there again. Okay, so the following is where I believe many of us newbies may be having a disconnect: Say we take your great advice, use the "Facebook algorithm" to our advantage, find someone paying for ads... 1) If the person is already paying for ads, how do we convince them that they need a copywriter? 2) Where would we be performing the copywriting service exactly? Still a little confused as you can tell.😅 Thanks for your great content.

If a business is paying for ads, they already know marketing has value. They are actively promoting their business and would understand better the value copywriters bring to the table.. Copywriters write the words that help to sell their product or service and make sure they're copy is full of SEO and psychology to bring in their client's ideal audience. I write my copy in a Google Doc and send it to my clients with gmail.

Hey Allie Linn! I recommend charging $200/blog when you first start writing. As you gain more experience, you can raise your rates. You can also look at the top ranking copywriters to get an idea for how much they're charging.

Do you have any tips for LinkedIn networking? I haven't been super successful with email marketing.

I've found cold emailing is the quickest and most effective method to build your initial client base. Be sure to create your portfolio and website before cold emailing. This way you'll present yourself as a professional. When it comes time to reach out to your ideal clients, be sure to focus on their pain points. How will you help them? I don't generally recommend reaching out to clients through LinkedIn because it's more like a job resume and shows if you've been copywriting a long time.

I recommend looking at what other copywriters in your niche charge. You can also figure out pricing based on word count.

Instead of thinking of it as them taking "a cut" try to keep in mind it's investing in a higher quality product for your client. Which ultimately is going to result in better clients and a better reputation as a writer. You can always work an editor into your fees :)
