I sometimes have similar issues with my dad’s 2016 F350 that he has had for a few years. It’s had to go in for repair several times but only one was for anything engine related (emmisions sensor). The other times were for electrical issues (headlights had some bad wiring), AC issues (needed a recharge), or minor body work (fuel neck, tailgate trim, tires, etc). Otherwise it actually runs better than most of my dad’s trucks outside of his 2015 Tundra and his 87 Bronco (all of the other trucks are almost 30 years older than the 2016 F350 or the 2015 Tundra and all have issues even if they do run). Ironically almost all of my dad’s trucks are Fords. He has two other F350’s that are from 1990 and 1986 and an F450 from 1988 and all three have issues

I'm a Ford guy but the hemi is the best gas truck engine made. Even Scotty agreed a few months ago. Now he's complaining about gas mileage? The newer ones get 15-20mpg. Great for a full sized truck with that much power. Toyota will never have those kind of numbers. Meanwhile Ford is adding turbos or variable cam timing, which is great until 150,000 miles. Then then engines cost a fortune to fix if something goes wrong. Time will tell on the 5.0, but for now I'll take an f150 with a hemi.

Oldsuitman That seems like a generally rule of common sense across the board. But I did see where that’s an issue for many people. Fortunately for me though, I live in the Deep South, so rust underneath is not really an issue.

You’re one of the only one who ranks the the trucks exactly how I have for years. I’m a nobody but I have spent decades in dealers and have drove everything that you’ll find in dealers these days. Dodge has always been at the bottom of the list for me. I love Ford trucks even though I currently drive a Chevy suv. I haven’t had the funds to get what I want and the Chevy is paid for so one of these days I get my Ford back.
@kristibuttler45654 жыл бұрын
Spot on in my opinion. I've had 4 GM trucks in a row. The last was a 2014 sierra 1500 and it will be my last. I feel like I have paid for that truck twice with all the problems. Transmission, Ac Condenser, Starter, upper and lower ball joints, exhaust manifold with broken bolts, had to pull heads. air flow sensor, O2 sensors, heated seat issues over and over, leather seats replaced under warranty twice because of cracking. Oh and recall upon recall, under warranty at least. I get sick thinking of all I spent in down time and money. Toyota Tundra very soon.

I know this vid is over a year old and someone may never read this but there are a few things Scotty left out. Dodge has been making trucks since world war 2, they released the power wagon to the public after WW2 it had 4wd and a V8. They've been around a lot longer than he said.. My dad purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 and it gets better gas mileage than my mom's ford expedition with the 3.5L EcoBoost, it has MDS technology which means it goes down to a 4 cylinder when not accelerating. Ram has definitely stepped up their game and deserve better than last.

In 2005 I bought a Ram 1500 with the 4.87 8 cyl engine - I LOVED that truck I never had a single problem. I sold it in 2007 with 60k miles on it when gas prices skyrocketed. Recently I was going to finally replace it, I am sort of glad now that didn't happen. After looking around and weighing my needs I ended up with a Nissan Frontier and I LOVE IT.

Last year I bought a used 2015 bighorn. The Hemi is awesome. It's the water leaks and electronics that I couldn't deal with. No one could fix the water leaking into the cab. When winter hit and I was scraping the ice off the inside and outside of the windows is when I gave it back to the dealership. I think the condensation and water leaking inside the cab is also why the electronics were haywire. Rediculous.

I really enjoy you comments, good and bad. We (my wife and I ) bought a 2028 Chevy Colorado, ZR-2. (in January 2018, new) with a little four Diesel, (Turbo) I runs like a top, we love it. Here in northern Nevada we need a good 4X4. We are getting a little over 30 miles to a gallon, empty. With 52,000 miles on it. We have a Feather lite car trailer. 22FT, With a 14,000 pound winch. We use it when we go logging at lake Tahoe. When we come home the trailer is over loaded (always) our little Diesel pulls just like our 2000 Ford 7.3 Diesel. Now that is a big difference in Torque and weight. lots of hills (up and down). We can not be happier our little Diesel. The one thing that does not work is the Jake brake. I have talked with our dealer and they said Oh Well. I have look on U-tube and all the ZR- 2 owners have the same problem. We can lock up the front axel only when in low range, and anything over 15 mph it unlocks. I have installed a B&M dip stick. Please Scott keep up the good work.! Oh yes we are 79 years young and still going strong.

I love my Chevy HD 2500 4 door with tow package - it's a 2003 and I had a couple of issue that were pretty inexpensive to fix. I haul a GN trailer with weekender package and up to two horses and it has 159,000 miles. I don't expect good gas mileage (wish I had bought a diesel but there were no diesel mechanics in my town at the time)..so it is what it is. I bought mine on the fleet side at Chevy..plain Jane with just air, power steering and power brakes. No carpet but it does have a radio, lol. It's a true long bed, 8 ft. Wouldn't trade it for the world and when the engine goes, I'll drop another in it and keep hauling. It still looks like new :)
