Imo one of the larger problems is getting double uptiered _all the f*cking time_ in T6 and especially T5. I swear at least half my T5 games are uptiered to T7, which is really annoying, because it's very difficult to do much in most T5 ships in a T7 game. When you're getting spotted by a CV or sub while trying to avoid the potshots T7 battleships take at you from 4 kilometers outside your maximum gun range you aren't usually having a lot of fun.

(I ranked out once(Bourgogne) and got to Typhoon league four times(Stalingrad)) In this video it was not mentioned that legendary modules are locked behind research bureau. So you grind Yamato as a first tier X then you realizze you need to unlock research bureau (another 3 Tier X grind) then you need to regrind two lines twice to get the legendary module that is essential to that ship. Fuck You WARGAMING.

In addition to grinding ship XP and credits, the problem of commander XP for new players should also be addressed. The commander's "power" takes a big leap forward at 10, 14, ~18 and 21 skill points respectively. If you then consider that the XP required to level up beyond ~15 skill points is extremely high and how valuable the first commander with 21 skill points is, especially if it is one of the very strong unique commanders (Kuznetsov / Lütjens / Sansonetti / ...), which you only get when you have spent for example 175k coal, new players, even if they play well and intelligently, have an extreme disadvantage compared to the old players, even if they are worse / would be defeated under the same conditions.

What irritates me the most looking at new players is the labeling and shamming they get at higher tiers. As soon as they die (because of not knowing there ship well enough, ect.) Immediately, seasoned players start the shame and "noob" calling on chat like there a diseased leper. Can't stand that! We have ALL been there! "JUST STOP" the shame chat! PLEASE! As for new players, their are a lot of vids to show how to play your ship. Please take the time to view them and practice (COOP, Training, ect.). Get with (hopefully) a good clan that has the time and patients to help you become a better player. This is a TEAM based game. You need to be part of that team (this goes for the experienced players as well). It is true that most of us "old ones" have been playing the game since it came out (myself included), and never had to deal with the frustrations that new players now face. Most of the "old ones" are gone now. I don't see many left in upper tiers anymore (or they switched their game names and restarted from scratch to get better win and PR rates). My point is that new players need time to get a good understanding of the game and not be put down for trying. If your new, ask for advice in chat if your not sure about a position or play style. Div up with seasoned players and try to learn and be part of a team. I find that wins a lot of unwinnable games. Just my 2cents on all this.

Not buying high tier premium ships is not something new players know NOT to do. There's literally no resource in the game that advises against it, and WG would never do that as they WILL lose money. I have recommended this game to quite a few of my friends and family, and the highest I have seen any one of them grind was Tier 7. Very few players even make it to T10 before they realize the game is a time dump and they don't like it as much as they hoped they would. Most new players will pull the trigger on a high tier premium ship when they are at tier 5 or 6, and started to notice the much longer grind times involved. And not knowing that the gameplay changes massively from to T8 to T9, to T10, they then buy these stupidly expensive ships and get absolutely annihilated, but now...because they spent so much on the game, they have to keep playing and grinding. I've seen players get nasty with newbies who are playing at high tiers with premium ships, while I actually feel for them. They had a few good games at T4 and had no idea how the gameplay would change at T8 or T9. Because nothing prepared them.

The problem though, is PVE doesn't teach you how to become a better player so we've got a bit of a conundrum. But I love this game so I kept chipping away and grinded up a couple lines, first 10 was the Mino and as much as I love playing her, I lose money every time I take her out. Recently I started noticing (and maybe it's the signal flag issue), I am not generating credits like I used to. I've got 8 boat lines waiting for credits to upgrade to the next tier...now to me, that's a real parity problem. I mean, in every other MMO, experience is the currency for leveling up. I brought this up with the WoWS Reddit community and the people that replied were very helpful and commiserated with my situation. The bottom line I got from them, get better and play randoms. The game was never meant to be played PVE. So consequently, I've all but quit playing. Because right now for me as a PVE player, the feeling of progression is not there anymore. Yeah I was there a couple of months ago. But taking a break from the grind and playing ships I wasn't trying to unlock and that were already equipped with modules and decent (10 to 14 pt) captains for a few weeks helped me stockpile enough credits that I was easily able to buy about half a dozen tech ships last week. If you are hitting a wall on credits when it comes to building your fleet then pick a ship with a commander that needs to be brought up to snuff instead. Spending some time grinding that captain to build up their points instead of working on unlocking the next tech tree ship will help you accumulate credits. Being selective about what ships to buy or modules to buy is helpful too. Do you REALLY need to buy that ship with the terrible reputation you just unlocked when their are multiple other lines in your port you could be working on? Do you really need to kit a ship out with every single module from the word go? I recommend against doing that until you a couple of weeks of play on the ship in question anyway because what you think you need in modules might be different from what you think it is and the only way you find that out is to take the ship out and play it to see what it needs.

If you have credit boosters, run them exclusively on these Special ships, maximizing your earnings.

WoWS and WoT have the same issue: the number of new players starting out is really low. This means when you enter low level matches, you're not in a match with mostly new players, you're in with seal clubbers and experienced players grinding new lines. Turns the learning curve into a learning cliff. Then when you get to the mid tiers, you're mostly double up tiered and at a disadvantage the new player isn't likely to overcome. They'll quit instead.

As a relatively new player (15 months) I think what drives new players to buy their way up irs that WG (and WT) are set up so that most of the rewards or "fun missions" require that high tier. All the battles about which tech tree is best are nice, but I remember being a little frustrated when WG announced an event or I'd see an operation or something like that mentioned which required a tier (#) ship to participate - while I was grinding away with my Tier (much lower) ships. For example, right now. If you're new and grinding through the Japanese tech lines as your starting point, you can't participate in the D-Day events.

The problem with the credit economy is that there is no incentive to play lower tiers to fund high tier play. Even with a gray booster and premium time on a tier 9 or 10, I have to go full potato and my team lose for me to lose credits. Do that in Tanks, and you are spending a few rounds in tiers 5-7 to recover those lost credits. But in WoWS, hit battle again and you will likely get your credits back and then some in the next match. Super ships were supposed to be the solution, but again, it didn't solve the rest of the tiers. Which leads in to the next issue of MM, where getting double up tiered is the norm. Getting non-stop bottom tiered in tier 8 or 9 just isn't fun. The signal flags just needs a big price cut. Like an 80% cut to get people to actually buy them. While I seem to have a steady flow of them coming in from just playing the game. I can see clans needing to have them for clan battles, but for randoms or operations, it is easier to either go without the bonus they give, or play a different ship until I get those flags again.
@irishwind19715 ай бұрын
@Inceptor1254 With Tanks, it is designed so that you lose money at tiers 9 and 10. With a win you are hoping to break even. But then you back to tier 5-7 to grind credits to pay for the next tier 10 match. That helps a lot in MM with more players at the mid tier so MM can have a more diverse pool to create matches. In WoWS, there is no incentive to really play tiers 5-8 because with high tier ships you have to play really poorly and your team fail hard to lose credits. And even then, just hit the battle button and the next battle you'll likely make those credits back and still profit. So why should those with a bunch of tier 10s go play lower tiers? At least superships you'll lose credits no matter what. So with most players sticking with their high tier ships, MM doesn't have enough mid tier players to draw a game to make tiers 7-9 have an equal chance of being top tier vs bottom tier. At least in WoWS, with HE spam and/or torpedoes, stock bottom tier ships have a chance to contribute.

By the time I finished grinding xp for Des Moines by playing Buffalo, I realized I immediately hit a wall when it came to the credits I was earning and realized it would’ve been smarter to buy back the Baltimore and New Orleans and just save up credits for Des Moines and maybe coal for Salem. If credits weren’t an issue I would probably be grinding a second tech line by now. I’m a new player but I did have some experience from Legends and I can perform decent on the US heavy cruisers. Increasingly I’ve been looking at co-op battles as a way to get signal flags from the Science of Victory campaign without really needing to expend them. As a new player you’re given a lot of credits, just about enough to get you to tier 8 without getting miserly with your resources, but once you get around there, you start to notice the credits running dry and so do even your basic credit bonuses. More missions that make credit boosters and signal flags in particular easier to obtain would be amazing.

The Grind slowed down significantly, like i drove from a good road into thick mud. It feels like my personal impact and chance at getting good Credits out of a match are significantly more reliant on the Team i get and the Matchmaking. I have fought more Tier 10 than Tier 8 ships on the North Carolina and its quite the struggle. Now if i imagine i was completly new and dont have experience at all i would barely make any progress. I see so many people in these matches who run straight into death, broadside the whole match, hide with 8 ships behind 1 single island... nobody cares for AA support, nobody follows you in a push. And that makes a lot of players choose the easy way: sit back, shoot as far as you can, so you still loose but your chance is higher not to die and loose credits.

I've been playing since OBT and my advice to new players is: "Play all the tier ones. Then all the tier twos and so on. You learn all the ships. You learn all the maps and you learn the game before you get to the high tiers." Also: The grind IS the game! There isn't a real goal or endgame but when you reach tier 11 all over the board a big part of the game is done. Don't rush it, you'll get there. When I "grind" a new line I play one game in that ship per day. Then I play other ships. You don't get bored and you earn credits at the same "pace" as the XP so you can buy the next ship when you unlock it. It's also nice to have some FXP at hand so you can use it to "get out of the stock" i.e. upgrade the ship from the start. There should also be a limit how high a tier premiums you could buy.

The problem these days is that the lower tiers are now just mainly for bots. I started when the game came out of Beta and slowly worked my way up - I really wanted the Cleveland (T6 then) as Jingles showed it was huge fun - I bought my way up and truly was awful. Some nice chap on the old forum gave me good advice and I went back to T3 and learned how to play the game in the St Louis - angling, aiming, positioning - took me about 1000 battles!! I didn't play high tier premiums until I played tech tree ships at that tier and I enjoyed the grind - except Pensacola at T7!! I now mainly play T7 - I found a ship I liked and mainly play that - I do get Premium as I always have credits and anything else I want and free premium comes up all the time so not even that expensive. I think WG should make the lower tiers more attractive but keep protecting newer players - Tier 9 and 10 are full of make believe ships on the whole and play style seems to be very static - mid tiers are much more dynamic and fun. My advice is don't feel that you have to shoot up to T10 but grind a few different lines and have fun. We are not all Flambass - most of us are more like Jingles and make like him and have fun!

I think your video's and the video's of a couple of other wows youtubers are very educational for new players. It should be mandatory for new players! By the way, new players are often totally not open for any form of feedback. Got two yesterday at Brawls, hiding behind island in the back with brawlers, while enemy team capped in no time. How kindly you giving some feedback, in 90% of the cases they react very upset and even toxic in some cases. So if you're a relatively new player, please be open when someone kindly gives you some feedback and learn!

Toxic players drove me from Randoms & Ranked, which I could probably have learned an awful lot lot more a lot quicker. I'll Brawl and do Asymmetric and also occasional Ops, but it's mainly Co-Op for me now. Have still managed to grind out (and reset) every line except CV's & Subs. Don't hate them like some just didn't find them interesting enough.

Don't forget that if you want to play between rank 1 and 6 you will most likely have more bots on your team then players, so when you reach a higher tier you will have very little experience of actually competing against real people. Playing Tier 9, 10, and Superships is really fun with top tier economy as a completely free to play player, and its even worse now that bonuses were removed from all my camos I collected over the years.
@unprofessionalreviews264 ай бұрын
As a man who played the game for 6 years, accumulated hundreds of ships and then the CVs came back. Then the subs popped up and then the camo/flag rework was looming I quit back in 2022 and still have no urge to reinstall. I'll watch a video or stream here and there, and that's it. Thanks, WG, for good times, but its none to be had for me anymore.

I have played on and off since the beta. War gaming has always made sure players are short on either experience or silver for new ship purchases and sometimes both. Now it is always both. Steel, coal, and other resources are too slow to accumulate in the time to use them to purchase what you need with them. Choices: captain? Flags? Continue to save for a ship? Module? What to do? Again: not enough resources. The grind was bad enough when you could buy the next ship a bit after unlocking it. Now you have to play lower tier ships to make coin slowly in order to build up enough to buy anything. T-8 to * are losing coin even if your team wins. The answer is not “get better “ either. Only one or two players can come out with a profit at most. That leaves 10 players losing credit. It takes the joy out of playing the higher tiers.
@kingofcastlechaos5 ай бұрын
Many players, new and some old, never learned that they can sell their old modules from their inventory, Click on your name in port, go to inventory, select modules, and SELL them. You don't need them. Most players I teach this to get around 15 million and the record is 23 million. He was a very happy dude!

One difference in ship tier; For making cash, and being able to run with your clan in Random Operations, a tier 8 is more than fine for new players. You have a clan to teach you, and if not then something like a Mainz gets you lessons learned very quickly while making money for your grind. Most new players tend to avoid Random vs Co-op because its so much more fun when you are learning. Hell a lot of experienced players do just because of CV, sub, and general chat bullies. Now I say Mainz because it's hard to over extend yourself, its more forgiving, and it's got a little of everything. I still think she's a great credit farmer, and if I could only have one premium, it's her.

I remember grinding the French DD line as my first line. I was reading before about the line something like that: "Small and quick ships with big guns to annoy the big guys." I am still amazed that I didn't quit wows back then with kind of 350 games to come to the Kleber, a WR of probably 30% and a PR deep red. Didn't know back then about tactics, what hydro even is and that premium + camo can give you serious advantage grinding. Also no help from the official Wows sites as well. Ended up buying the Ägir and also wasn't happy afterwards. The big change came, when entering an active clan, playing a lot in divisions, asking all the stupid questions and watching videos on how to play the specific ships. The curve is still high, but it's much lower, if I had known stuff before.... And wouldn't have started french DDs first. 😅

As an experienced player who left for a year and came back, the biggest problem with the game is the mechanics. They just do not work as advertised. I understand why. If the mechanics worked as advertised, it would extremely punishing for new players. And WG like to give whales special protection. That makes commercial sense. I get it. Even so, the game is joke. Only a sucker would let themselves be farmed by risk averse whales in premium CVs.

I started this game when rts carriers were still around but never really played much. I came back to the game I believe two years ago and found it has changed so much. Carriers are totally different now. There are no longer team damages which I really want back (I know some people hate it). The consumables are new and there is now a captain system. In short I felt like a completely new player but I did fine because I remembered how to aim and lead the shots. The credit boosters and signal flags are nice to have but I don't use because I'm obsessed with saving for no reason. I think the main problem is tier 5 going into tier 7 games, that really suffers for true new players. I play random the most but on is becoming much more fun to me. I suggest new players to not worry about rushing through lines. You should try tier 7-8 for each nation and get better before going further. Or go in the game with a different mindset, don't care winning or making progress. Get the ship you like and play it, and it's fine if it is just a tier 4. Zara is one of my favorite ship in history so that was the first ship I grinded when I came back. It is not the strongest at tier 7 but I came back to play the ships I like in history.

Unfortunately after leaving the protected matches I was once again doomed, after learning that i'm playing against players with 20k+ battles on their account it left a bitter aftertaste

I highly agree in getting new players to join Clans. Not only to learn, ask question, have fun and interact. But also get to ask clanmates about ship lines or nations, how many lines have we all started that sucked because we did not enjoy the style at the beginning. Not only that but play in division and try not to die so fast by rushing the middle, see their positioning etc. Yes it may take longer to grind and get good at this game. But we still have a great community that can be of an amazing resource. Plus youtube streamers like you with great videos to check for how to play etc... despite subs in game wow still fun!!!

I learned quick, when choosing daily containers... choose the bonus containers. You will stockpile credit and XP bonuses to use for your ships. Worry about premium ships later, especially if you want to move up the tiers in your chosen ship line. Also, Ranked battles are good for steel and doubloons, which can get you premium ships (for steel) and Free XP (doubloons). They also have good payouts in credits and XP and keep the ships within one tier in a match. Much better for new players. I'm at 350+ hours now and at the point where I just jump in for a few Ranked matches every day and grab the freebies in the store. I gave up on Random battles, Ranked is better.

There is a reason why Asymmetrical mode is popular. You take in a T9 or 10 ship and get to fight T8 ships. That’s fun and fair. But hopping in a random battle in a T8 and going against a full lobby of T10 sucks balls. I started playing last spring. And the battle pass gave 10k steel. I went ahead and spent money to get doubloons to finish it. Glad I did because 10k steel in a battle pass hasn’t been offered since.

I only made it to tier 7, but was sitting on 40 mil credits not having to buy all the different little things like signals. Playing now, to stay competitive and not drain credits it's basically going back and forth between premiums and tech tree ships. Not having a max commander already hurts a ton, but stacking signals on top of that is another thing.

Getting from tier 1 to 5 isn't hard and doesn't take excessive time, but it gets progressively more time consuming after that. Yeah, now I have a lot of economic bonuses to paste onto the ship, and that speeds things up, but you're still going to be playing a lot of matches with that ship to get enough XP and credits to get the next tier. It's what's kept me from going for research points, because every time I think about it, I also think "do I really want to grind this again?"

And i know everybody says just grind at maximum 2 lines but at the same time u are supposed to play all different clasas in order to understand them and there are so many very interesting lines to grind and i knew the game better than most players playing it for 1/2 years bc i watched very very very many guides on yt, with that i just had to learn where to aim and where to position not more.

Me and a friend we started last year. I didnt pay any money and grinded the Yamato line. So like casually playing it took me about 5 month for tier Tier X. Tier IX was the worst experience ever. The costs of the modules were so high and the grind so long, I was playing without any attachments. I lost 70% of my games, i sucked and I lost way more money playing. So I had to grind for a T7 coal ship to make money to afford playing the Izumo. If it wasnt for my friend, I'd stop long ago at Tier IX not gonna lie. This game took us by the hand at the start and dropped us in T6 without much knowledge of game economy. I now have a friend on the exact same point and I try to help him, but he is also struggling and doesnt want to play often. Positioning, learning your role, when to push when not.. god.. I still suck at this.. or knowing the ships, have map awareness, knowing the meta, radar than fking cvs who just farm you and spot you for the whole enemy team.. not gonna lie.. sometimes i want to just trash the game out of the window

My advice to new players: test server. Install it. Play it. You can preview any tech tree line you like. Go up each one playing some randoms or even coop. You get community tokens that eventually get you a FREE tier 5 or 7 ship and more importantly you are given more than enough free xp and credits to dive into any line you want. Then you have a better idea about what you want to spend time grinding on the live server. You can also use test server to experiment with captain builds and equipment upgrades. Another big time saver.

my biggest tip for new players would be to try every class for at least a few 10s of battles, especially the ones you struggle against. feel free to ignore signals, as a new player you are likely to get yourself into deadly trouble, none of the flags will help with that and end up just wasted. (you can buy them with coal if you really want them, you easily get over 1000 coal per day with the daily containers by playing a few matches) i actually went without any economic bonuses back in the day for a year and a half. as example, if my memory serves, it took me a bit over 100 matches to level up my bismark with shipxp and by that time i had the credits i needed. turns out xp and credits are pretty balanced in wows, as long as you dont boost your xp-gain more than your credit-gain, you will likely have what you need when the time comes. or just get yourself a freemium or premium T5-T8 and play it regularly for the extra credits.(the freemiums are pretty good and can be obtained for coal by just playing a few matches every day for a month or two)

If you're not a super unicum player, or one of the pay to win streamers that pay their actors for impossible solutions (not you, SLM, but we all know who they are), you're just gonna have a rather poor experience in the game. The hostility between new people and old people is expanding. The toxicity of the playerbase is also expanding. The enemy is literally Wargaming, who, as you said, hasn't stopped their high tier money making printouts... low tier was fun. Now it's impossible, because subs and CVs ruin it worse than high tier.

Came back now 2-3 weeks ago and was able to grind to Iowa now. But that's beceause I received the premium account for free again so I get some additional credits. And honestly it's all so difficult, grindy and unclear. There's no good information that's given in game or anything. I just watch KZbin video's to kind of learn what to do and to learn some basic features. I just learned about how to get ricochets etc, which seems like such a basic thing to know and I just found out through a KZbin video. I thought the ricochets were random... I have no clue what I'm doing in game and I get put with players that have been playing for years... I can't stress this enough how complicated and grindy this game is as a beginner. It's not really that fun beceause I'm always at a disadvantage in every single game. I run out of signals all the time, I dont have captains over level 10, I don't have enough credits to complete my modules, etc... It takes a new player like me like 70 games to go from Iowa to the Montana I'm guessing... And then I only get to play battleships, so if I wanted to play a cruiser or a destroyer there's simply not much else to do than to buy a premium ship or something...

The thing for me has been trying to learn how to do clan battles, there's no info on how that works. You join a clan and then have to earn stars in order to stay in clan but can only play clan battles during certain times and has to be a commander that starts the battle so you have to be available when their on in order to participate. Same applies with naval battles.

Imho, the biggest Problem, which this Games shares with similar Games is - often there is not a SHRED of Teamwork to be found from more experienced/higher ranked Players. Many experienced Players will happily sacrifice their Team and the Win, if it means they can pad their Stats . I think everyone knows the "hiding behind a Rock, and not shooting until its the killshot" BB . Yeah, those guys . There are other variations of asocial Teamplay ofc . For a new Player, its devastating to loose, and moreso when you realize you could have Ez won had just everyone on the Team played to win . Established Players don't suffer so much from little credits/exp. etc . New Players - do .

Haven't played WoWS in years, and had no idea they changed it so you no longer get flags from in game achievements. Like you, I (probably?) still have tons of secondary flags, and other flags too. I basically never left port without a full stack of flags on whatever ship I was playing, as I'd earn more flags almost every game.
@howardlewis91695 ай бұрын
Playing since Beta...The biggest mistake i made in this game was to sell all the flag i could sell BEFORE the work work came in, as i thought they wouldn't be transferred onto the new system and would lose them. How wrong i was. I had hundreds of flags with bonuses on which would have transformed onto the new system with enough to last me years, in XP, credits, commander and free. Instead i only got the bonuses from the flags i could originally sell and although i had loads, 500+ in most, they have dwindled over the course of the year to the point where i have about 50+ credit flags remaining. more in XP and commander and little left in free XP flags. Without any of that and i never play premium (i'm not a sucker) i can imagine how hard it is to grind a line now-a-days for new players. Not like a unicum player like me, where you end up in the top 1-3 every game with a decent pay back, making the grind easier. But if your coming at the middle-bottom, it's a tough grind. But my advice is simple...DONT buy a premium ship at tier 8-10 after installing the game. It's not gonna be fun for you and it's going to cheese everyone else off who has taken the time to learn the game. You wont learn, you wont get better. IF you are going to buy a ship, and only IF, then get something at tier 5 to start with. Tier 1-6 is kinda new player territory so little is expected from you. Tier 7-8 you should be able to know the game, what your facing and put up a scrap. Tier 9-10 you should have a few hundred battles under your belt and know the ropes and don't be a burden. However...It's not the case now-a-days and the amount of red players at tier 10 and even tier 11 is shocking (MM tells me this every game). The worse, period, it has ever been in it's history. If your new...Join a clan and get some help.

I think one thing I wish they would improve is the economy and desire to play tier 5-10 rather than just playing t8-10. You make no money below t8(and above t8 too) but the struggle is just to reach t8 as fast as possible even though there are some cool t7 and t6 ships but they get horribly matchmaked, especially at 7. The credit grind is the only thing that actually keeps t8 a live because it is the most optimal tier to do so especially with premium ships. It's an economy thing, but it effects the fun and value of all the tiers. The first premium ship I bought is still to this day the ship I go to make money one and it's just the T8 Roma. It's a fun ship but straight up I make like 5x the amount of credits in that ship compared to anything else.

Now I was only able to play for a few months before life happened and I didn't play for literally years. Now I'm back and I'm both an old and new player.

1: I've been playing for a year and a half now; I _still_ don't fully understand angling. 2: I went up the US CL line first. I didn't have problems with credits untill Seattle. 3: WG used to _give_ flags? 4: That Hood joke hurt.

In a nutshell, angling puts more armor in the way of the incoming shell. To angle effectively, you have to know if its even possible to angle against the ship shooting at you, which requires you to know the incoming caliber vs you mm of armor, etc. The goal being to make the shell automatically ricochet instead of going through the ricochet check (find the weegee video to explain that bit honestly) Honestly, I just kinda wing it and try not to show too much broadside to battleships with massive guns

@@paulshaffer3001 I know that. What I don't get is why a ship with 32mm bow armor still gets damage when nose in against a ship with 406mm guns.

@@octaviusmorlock at that point, i blame RNG. or assume it managed to get over the bow plate and hit the deck

8 months in this game . I have like 15 tier 10s and 1 super ship. Premium time and ships has helped me a lot with being lucky in premium boxes with great premium ships.

Its not just the grind its the hostile meta that present to new player during the grind , low tier RANDOM is no longer RANDOM , its just Co-Op with both side having some human players thrown in and not in a good manner ; Mid tier madness - double CV - sure, double / triple SS - sure , and well more than often double CV + double SS , and of course the stated credit crunch and also - of course - pretty much all the not really up to date mid tier DD, Cruisers, and BB are not and never are balanced for such meta , not help by old hands seal clubbing there It might not be the welcoming answer , but once get pass T5 , you had options as a new players and its call Scenarios ( Operations ) , and sometime you even had Ranked , Clan or temporary mode that allow mid tier ships ( as we are having now with the D-Day Utah Beach part )

I'd call myself a new player, and I'd say the biggest grind is *commander xp.* Mainly because it's outright impossible to live more than 10 seconds as a DD without Concealment Expert once you reach T5, but you have to stay in T4 several times as long as it takes to research all of the hulls available to your ship to get a rank 6 commander up to rank 10, even if you're using boosters. Now that said, if it's anything like War Thunder then... yeah, credits are going to swiftly become a problem too, but they aren't for the first month of playing, at the very least. Admittedly, the fact that I'm trying to progress seven lines at the same time without letting any get more than a tier ahead of the rest might be part of that, too. So many commanders to train, and only three of them don't need rank 10 to stand a chance...

Love the channel my man. Really do. Compelled to add my two cents here though. WOW is free. It just is. No way of getting around that. A best mate of mine plays it totally free and has an embarrassingly good roster of ships including all the tier 11's. I honestly don't mind. If people want to spend their hard-earned cash on a game good for them. I welcome it so the game can continue to develop as it is for free. Are they going to be good players? Of course not, but hell it's just a game. We're not military commanders and honestly far too many players think they are. Is the game unbalanced towards premium ships? No. That would be a problem. I think it's the matchmaking that shafts this game. It really is ALWAYS double-up tiered every dam game. It's not fun, and that needs sorting out IMHO. Carriers suck, subs are annoying but a few beers necked it's a dam good GAME. If they charged £35 retail and that was it for life could it continue to develop like this? I'm not sure.

I myself am relatively new and the grind past tier 4/5 gets AWFUL, it's demotivating without premium and credits are in short supply especially with BBs. I'm a PvE player, i never get many credits from co-op games due to cruisers and destroyers being able to kill everything before im able to accurately land a shell on anybody. Also super containers give you NOTHING. you get hardly 20 signals from them.

This... playing a US/UK BB in co-op is horrible. You'll get 2-3 salvos off (if lucky) and destroy nothing. DD/CLs will beat you to the bots and flood-kill everything with torps before you can even swivel turrents around to aim. German BB/BC with a heavy secondary build do better, but barely...

Don't die. Always have an escape route. Be patient. Don't push into submarines or torpedoes. Take time to work out where the enemy is. Avoid putting yourself in a position where you can be crossfired. When you decide to go then go hard. Target destroyers and submarines.
@geraldleuven1693 ай бұрын
The grind isn't that bad, you get tons of xp boosters and free credits and such in order to build your bankroll. Never payed for a premium account either. The only thing that takes grinding is getting your captain to lvl 21.
@mattm70075 ай бұрын
For the millionth time. Double uptiering is what puts the grind in grind. If you only ever play against similar tier ships, it's much more fun at those mid tiers, especially for new player. But WG won't change this because their tools of the trade are frustration and FOMO.

I used to sell flags as 50-100 is all you ever needed to guarantee an infinite supply. Wish I kept them now.

My in game name says how hard I found it to get the hang of when I switched over from WOT after light tanks (my favourites) were rendered useless by ridiculous armoured cars... Reminds me of the effect of CVs on my preferred class of DD in WOWS. This_is_hard_work would become something even harder now! And the proliferation of bots at love tiers makes it even of boring and un-educational (if you wanted to learn easy/lazy/dumb tactics you'd play co-op)
