Great recipe. I didn't have psyillium husk so I used finely ground flax seeds. It works great just like psyillium husk.

These are fantastic! Thanks for the recipe. My first batch: I only had sunflower and pumpkin seeds and my baking tray was a bit small so they came out a bit ‘doughy’. Still delicious though. Second batch: Used pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds. Same pan but only did 400g of seeds, 400ml water and two rounded dessert spoons of psyllium just powder. These came out brilliantly! The chia seeds fill in all the little gaps between the larger seeds and give them a lovely crunch.

I was so excited to try this recipe. They came out really good. The only thing was the outside edges cooked faster than the inside so I decided to break it up into pieces and rotate them while they were cooking. I did have to leave them in the oven longer after taking some of them out. All in all it’s a great recipe thank you!

A funny thing happened when I tried this recipe. I pulsed the seeds in the blender a bit to make kind of a meal. When I put the hot water in, it almost instantly gelled up, no chance to pour, even after adding an extra 100mg water. So I rolled them out, but there was way more matter than would fit in my pan. So I tried making a wrap, which turned out surprisingly well. I also took some batter and mixed extra flavors in and made some patties. I tried steaming them, but they were pretty soft, so I put them in the oven. I’ll let you know how they come out.

Thank you for an easy healthy recipe. I guess it depends on how much you eat and the size of the crackers,as to how many carbs. Even one cracker the size of a stamp will have some carbs. And the only way I will eat only one the size of a stamp, is if I don’t like it at all. But I’m pretty sure I will love it, and healthy carb city here I come.🤗👍🏻

Carla, Psyillium husk is necessary to increase fibre in order to make this 'No Carb'. It is a common ingredient in Low Carb/Keto recipes. It's not for a gelatinous element. It's for concentrated fibre which reduces the net carbs.

The idea of Psyllium was a strange one - never heard of it in the UK at least I haven't but how about a teaspoon of Xanthan Gum (powder form)? It's commonly used in gluten free recipes to replace gluten and has a binding thickening elasticating effect for bread and pastry made with gluten free flour. Just a thought what do you think? I like the idea of ground flax seed.
@michaeljoseph2303
@michaeljoseph2303 Жыл бұрын
Xanthan Guar etc Gums leach digestive floods from gut overtime cause leaky gut. Many thickener options chia flax seed thought psyllium was great option.

Yes it’s commonly used in just about everything that’s the problem. The gums thicken by absorbing fluids. People with gluten allergies react with the a lot of gums used as thickness. Which in my opinion is really unnecessary to begin with. Flax chia seeds and now discovering psyllium are great alternatives to gluten eggs corn starch etc. Just my opinion doesn’t bother some people. Thank you.
