I’m Dominican and we invest heavily in Dominican Republic. Hopefully soon there can be political and legal change so all the Haitians outside of Haiti can invest and revolutionize the country, the time is now. You guys are half our size but have double the coastline, tourism in Haiti needs to be developed and marketed. Most Haitians I know haven’t been in Haiti in 15-20 years because they feel unsafe .

That’s so true. Haiti has about 2millions of people outside of the country and if even 50 percent of the diaspora return to invest in Haiti then we would see real change. But we have too much thieves in the government and private sector and we need to remove them first.

Very nice. I went through that process getting a land for my mom. Right on point. I’m happy for you. The only thing I regret is that I was working on limited time and didn’t have time to truly work with an engineer to get a house plan. If you have time, think about it before building. I did most of the work myself, house plan and all, though we did have a builder, he wasn’t a planner. It was amazing experience I got to share with my mother. Didn’t let her lift a thing. The best house I’ve ever lived in was in Haiti and I’ve traveled to many countries. If you plan, you can have something beautiful. They have beautiful flowers, fish ponds are nice, fruit plants. I wish you the best!!

While that's true. It's also a good safeguard for the ones that have nothing else to live off of other than that family land. Which is why people get killed trying to sell family land all the time. Because a lot of time when a family member sell the land, it can leave other family members with literally no where else to go.

Buying a piece of land in Haiti shouldn't be like buying mangoes at a super market. A smart buyer should force his notary to do a thorough " title search '' for him (her)at the DGI, and then, maybe then u can have a shot at getting ahead in the transaction. Do not ever rely on what the prospective seller tells you. EVER.

Blessings my brother, you are giving solid information. I was fortunate to have a land my father bought way back from a reputable and legitimate seller way back in 1967. I had my father bring the deed to the Haitian Embassy itself to notarized and the notarized copy is in the government office. People have to follow the advice in this video for real, because their are alot of shady people in Haiti, and some people will not think twice to rip you of. Again great work my brother and many blessings on your land.

It is a process in itself well explained I've done exactly that. One of our cousins sold 8 of our lands without getting the family's signature so even in that process it can be crooked as well. Some we don't care for it but two of them I will get them back. Next note on your way to Payant you drive in front of my beach land the view is immaculate it's paradise. We seem to cross close path on the places you visit Jeanty so I know I'll meet you because on your way to Payant you'll be passing in front of my house to be. I will most likely reach out to Ricardo with the echo info that you shared. I designed the plan now needing a professional to bring it to life. I planted some coconut trees so by the time I build it's flourishing. Yes, credit is everything and I get a double look when they see my credit like how is that even possible. Amazing post as usual...

Welcome to the land buying process in Haiti. 10 or maybe 20 years from now, a person can suddenly show up and declare that the land you bought was done illegally or fraudulently... And that person can be that very person you bought it from or the children of that person can come back and contest the purchase .. even if you have a notarized deed... I know cause my family is dealing with this very issue right now. Precaution pas Kapon.

" You're not buying the land, you're buying the word of the seller, etc." That is true and that's very smart, but it also sounds very scary and risky when buying a land in Haiti.
