The omelet reminds me of an episode of Good Eats. Alton cooked bacon and eggs in a waffle maker. I've been doing that ever since. Fry up a few slabs of bacon in the waffle iron. Then throw in some eggs and cheese which soaks up and residual bacon grease and basically cleans the waffle iron. Add some "syrup" - delicious!

Aussie here, jaffle maker/iron, toasted sandwhich/toastie maker. They usually come double sided, sometimes with four sandwich places. You can get standard or deep dish versions. They're already non-stick but I recommend buttering your bread on the outside too. We fry eggs and bacon, omletts, sweet and savoury toasties, you can use sheets of puff pastry in them. Tortillas work better in the double sided machines. You're only limited by your imagination.

I use the mini-griddle to make a "chancake bun." 3/8 cup mozzarella, 1 tsp psyllium husk powder, 1/2 tsp baking powder, and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds on top before closing the lid. I let that go for 6-8 minutes and pull it out with a silicone spatula, which I also use to guide the mixture into the griddle from the measuring cup. Half the mixture makes one griddle-full, so I use two griddles at a time. FWIW, I also toast the sesame seeds in the griddles separately, while the griddles are still hot.

Mostly I figured I'd only use it to force my nostalgia on my children like any good father 🤣 and figured they would have fun creating new sandwich ideas. I didn't even ponder using it for my own keto cooking so thanks for the perfectly timely video with ideas to start with! I also recently got an electric pressure cooker for the first time this month andn I'm already loving it... I need to search your videos and see if you've done anything on these yet. But if you are looking for an amazing keto meal to make for a future video, I found a "copycat" keto version of Olive Garden's "Zuppa Toscana soup" using my pressure cooker. So very easy, quick and honestly as good and maybe even better than the "real" version. I'd love to see your spin on that though I assume you are already overloaded with ideas for new videos lol.

I love Dash products. In your video you mentioned that you did not know when it was finished. You said "it's been three minutes....." at that very moment the little blue light went off (3:10 / 11:47). This light is not very bright and on my own dash, I have to either turn off the lights or cup my hands over the top to see the light (which can be dangerous with the heat and all). LOL. Love you videos! Would love to see you do more "plant-based" videos!
@englishatheart3 жыл бұрын
The light going off means that it's ready to use. The light being on means the appliance is heating up. Once the light turns off, it means it's up to the temperature it heats up to. When you are cooking something in any Dash product for a while, the light will switch on and off multiple times, telling you when it is heating and when it isn't.

Great ideas. I used my Dash mini griddle today to make breakfast burritos. I set a small ramekin on the bottom and added bacon grease and bacon bits, then added an egg and scrambled it as it cooked. I put the cooked egg into a low carb tortilla with cheese, then buttered the sides of the tortilla and put it in the griddle and put the top down. I turned it halfway through, since the bottom seems to cook faster. Great meal for a lone keto person.

I agree with ChickenParm152 that buttering the bread or tortilla would likely yield better results. Nice idea on the omelette .. never would have thought that would work out so well.

Don't forget that you can try all your sweet batters in here too, like your Twinkie one. Yum!

I do not think I will be getting one (I would need something larger for my family), but I still enjoyed your video. Can't wait till you get to their ice-cream maker. Thank you!

I'm pretty sure I used their ice cream maker in the sour cream lemon sherbet video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZqrmZdqgcR6la8

Nice review. You did get me thinking about the dash griddler though. I wonder if a pocket would form if you clamped down on the griddler. Would they come out looking like those pb and j uncrustables? Would they seal as well? filling those bad boys with all sorts of goodness. My mind is swirling with ideas. I'm going to try it out tonight.

The griddle would not form a seal. It would be a mess. Trust me. 🙂

Serious Keto I tried it. Since it doesn't come with a clip to hold it down. But I did achieve a tortilla filled with pulled pork and cheese and it sealed up nicely. Only down side was I was standing there for 3-4 min manually holding it down. 🤣
