I don't think so for exactly what Whitlock said. People like Whitlock would automatically say that Garrett is trying to play the race card to justify his actions. Also, I don't remember Garrett being allowed to say anything that wasn't already prepared for him. It would make sense that the organization and his lawyer wouldn't want Garrett to freely talk in public cuz it could be used against him in his appeal. So, to me, it makes sense that he waited (most likely on advice of the org and/or his lawyer) until his appeal to fully explain his side of what happened. You cannot make overarching generalities cuz you cannot speak for every single person. If you think you can then you're dumber than I thought you are.
@cemarz
@cemarz 4 жыл бұрын
Garrett and his HC insinuated that something was said immediately after the game. Then Garrett waits until and official meeting, closed doors, with a league official, under oath to let the league know what's up. As anyone with a sense of responsibility and respect for the league would do, as an act of not escolating. It gets leaked and now everyone's getting pissy that he didn't shout off the rooftops as the entire media world is condemning him. The same people who are ripping him for going through the proper channels would have ripped him for not going through the proper channels.

Wiley is a conservative. Also he's correct that both men have reason to lie. And while Myles behavior is indefensible, Mason has clearly contradicted reality and shunned any responsibility for the escalation - he lied so save face (it happens). I'm not saying I believe anyone-there are three sides to every story, which means there is the possibility one or both of them are being dishonest. No matter who you "believe", if we can't all do that, our emotions and biases are getting the better of us.

And I’m very sorry to see Garrett go. Amazing talent and he’s going to lose almost everything for an out of character reaction. Back to it. I haven’t ever heard anything bad about Rudolph. When your reality and common sense is shaped by your misguided perception of reality then believe what you want . But regardless of when he would have said this accusation people like you would find it a convenient excuse. There are no facts to support if he did or did not say it. We only know Rudolph lied about being slammed and his hand being caught in his helmet and he didn't make the situation worse. There is no evidence to prove Garrett lied anywhere about his horrid actions or what led up to them.

prejudice is a “preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience,”. Quite simply, it is a pre-judgment that one makes of another that is not rooted in their own experience. Prejudice refers to a preconceived idea about a particular group, while racism involves an unequal distribution of power on the basis of race. Sociologists have found that racism has led to a wide range of detrimental outcomes for people of color, including unequal access to jobs and housing, as well as an increased risk of being a victim of police brutality.

“We caught him on camera saying the ‘b’ word.” So what you’re saying is that the cameras and mics at the game are capable of recording things that are said? And yet there’s no evidence whatsoever of him using a racial slur? Very interesting.

When you hit someone with a weapon (helmet), you've taken it to another level, even if words were said. There's the difference between battery (hitting) and assault (talking).

Aaron Humphrey except Garrett apologized to Rudolph in a statement and never told the media or teammates about the alleged slur. We can use logic when looking at the circumstantial evidence and make reasonable inferences.

Whatever Rudolph said, whatever Rudolph did, it still DID NOT warrant the hit with the helmet on the head. Now if Rudolph made some racial comment to Garrett during the incident, if Garrett took a few swings at him with his fist, I'd be okay with that as sad as they may seem.

As a black man listening to Marcellus and Lavar make me feel no hope for the Youth of the black community if their elders respond to violence in this way. As black men and women we have to understand that words do not warrant physical assault or abuse. Black people get whooped when they are children for saying things not only for actions. Those are good teaching moments to help a young child understand what they're saying is wrong, but instead of majority of us got whooped instead. No white person ever whipped me, the only whipping I got came from a person look exactly like me. Lesson here is a real man keeps his composure no matter what is said. You can never justify your violence because someone called you a word. Try that in court or to God and see where that gets you. Marcellus and Lavar it's time to grow up and evolve. Think of the message you send to the children.

Kendrick Moore if you want to judge a group of people for the actions of others, especially people from a different generation, don’t then say you shouldn’t judge black people on the actions of others ie crime statistics. You can’t have it both ways. You can judge as a group or you can judge as an individual. You can’t have both
