Johnny, you sir rock for playing this game for Smackdown Sunday. Also, you should give the Story Mode a try some time. It has Calamity Trigger Reconstruction, which tells most of the events of the first game. There is a lot of stuff to explain about the main story- but I think I'll let the game do that for me. Seriously, I would be here all night trying to explain to you every single detail about the tale of BlazBlue at this point. Can't wait for Chrono Phantasma!

Technical is stringing together your own combos by pressing different buttons. In Stylish, you can press one button continuously for a combo and by holding down a button, you can activate your supers right away.

Glad to see this game on a channel I like to watch, as well as decent playing skills to boot. Also, a note about the control styles: Technical is just the default fighter setup, so all moves are on button and D-pad inputs, whereas Simple makes it easier to achieve larger and flashier combos by giving you each move type on a face button instead.

@MMetelli the attack tager did was a distortion attack. It's a super move that hurts a lot if you can time it right. Some distortion's have extra additions if you do another move with a lot more energy in your heat gauge. The little burst icons underneath your characters can cause damage if you use a gold burst. If you can manage to get a full heat gauge and you still have a burst icon, you can do an astral finish. It's a one hit ok move that can't be blocked, however it can be avoided.

Sweet you actually decided to play BlazBlue. Johnny you get my respect as you played and won using Taokaka, my fav character from this series. You were right right about Mu-12 being a boss character, though its mostly in story mode. Surprised Matt didn't pick Hazama though, he known as the God of Trolling, TVTropes even mentions it :P

Johnny I'm so glad your playing BlazBlue so I'm going to give to some tips. The difference between Stylish and Technical is that, Stylish is easier to chain combos and recommended from newer players. There is a tutorial mode in this game so don't be afraid to use it. Also I recommend playing the first game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger so you can understand the story, which you should play (it's really good and downright hilarious sometimes). :)

You can think of technical and stylish mode as the game's Normal and Simple configurations. I think there's a segment on it in the tutorial that explains it better, but it's basically push buttons, receive combo.

Since I didn't see it here, though it probably has been answered, Stylish mode makes you auto-combo. Mashing the same button will automatically do different normals and specials. IT also allows you to do supers if you hold the button.

I really hope they get Central Fiction when it comes out. I freaking love BlazBlue, even if I only recently got into it. Gameplay is great, characters are extremely memorable, writing is hillarious and the soundtrack is pure platinum (yes, that last one was on purpose).

Technical is the standard fighting style, three attack buttons (Light, Medium, Heavy) and a fourth button for the character's unique Drive ability. Stylish is a more simplistic control scheme similar to Smash Bros. One button does normal attacks and combos, and the other does special moves.

Johnny: The first character you played as was Mu-12. Not Nu-12. Nu is a difference character entirely (the Unlimited form of Lambda-11). Elliot: Makoto is a Squirrel-type Beastkin. Not a Chipmunk. Matt: Tager is very Overpowered in CSE. You were correct. :P

Never played the original Calamity Trigger, I started with CSII on the PSP and went on to Extend on the PS3 right afterwards, so I wouldn't know. I've seen some videos of it, though, and it looks like the series has improved quite a bit since then.

Stylish mode is more or less a beginner mode for new players. It makes it easier to perform combos, and makes it a lot easier to perform a character's Astral Heat, which is their finishing move.

Stylish mode lets you string combos just by pushing the same button over and over, its easier to use but doesnt let you do anything more complex than that. It also lets you use your distortion drives by holding down a button instead.

Technical makes the game play like street fighter, special attacks take button combinations. Stylish makes all buttons do different combos and holding buttons activates special attacks.

Hazama is the final boss in the Arcade Mode (Ragna if playing as Hazama, and Hakumen if playing as Mu-12), and Mu-12 is the secret boss (Ragna if playing as Mu-12, and Hazama doesn't have a secret boss). Complete the game without losing a single round (not match), and use an Astral Finish at least once. After you defeat Hazama, you view the character's ending, and go right to Mu-12. You only have one shot, though - lose and you go to the credits.

The main plot involves time travel, the aftermath of an apocalypse, multiple layers of deceit, and finding a way to destroy the gods of the world. And that's not even trying to bring in the mini plots. There's really no way to condense it into 500 letters.

The plot is actually not so hard to understand once you play the Calamity Trigger reconstruction that is in this extended version. After that most things make perfect sense (except for a few details that wil probably be explained in the next title).

The main difference with technical and stylish is that technical is the manual mode where stylish is more of a auto version of that. Like you press a button and it does it just does a command grab. Like with tager. Say you pick stylish right? Then you hit a button. Well you will then command grab. It pretty much plays itself. Also when you pick stylish you lose both of your bursts.

It's near damn necessary to use Stylish for the 3DS version of this game unless you can do quick movements with the D-Pad, but at the same time I find it easier to play characters like Noel or Tao with it.

Technical is basically do all the combo's with no assistance from the game. Stylish is that 1 button has a preset combo to sort of make it easier for you to land multiple hits instead of pressing multiple buttons.

As long as you have extend you are good. Story wise and also gameplay wise. This game includes all of the story too this point. They also had to rewrite the first blazblue, calamity trigger. This game also includes all the DLC people from the last game and also adds in a new person as well. So if you wanted to know about the game and the story this is it. Least till chrono phantasm comes out. Also something they added was the colors you can unlock. Which you had to pay for last game.
