Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Love Phoebe Snow, I asked so many reactors to give her a listen to no avail, they didn’t know what talent they were missing, sigh. Thank you SO much for listening (lyrics notwithstanding ha).

This is quite beautiful, of course. But I would highly recommend also listening to the studio version -- it's impeccable in a way that no live performance could be -- the engineering on it is almost as wonderful as Phoebe's voice, her guitar playing and her writing. And the session players on the studio version are also superior to this live version. It's also simpler, less jazzily improvisatory. And I know -- that line about his wife -- remember, in the 1970's we were SOOOOO LOOOOOSE -- and so confessional -- but that line always hurt me later. The voice and the music are so sublime, and that one line near the end just CRASHES you back into reality and human frailty and fault. Just listened to it again -- you MUST do a reaction to the studio version, PLEASE -- even though I'm not even a contributor YET. But I do love you and your channel. You're such a sweet and reflective young man. The percussion, that bass, the SAX -- it's stupendously head and shoulders above this live version you just reacted to.

Phoebe provided credited guest vocals backing Paul Simon on the gospel-tinged hit single "Gone at Last" and her backup vocal is heard on Simon's hit song "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," along with Valerie Simpson and Patti Austin, from 1975. Both "Gone at Last" and "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" appear on Simon's Grammy-winning 1975 album Still Crazy After All These Years.

Phoebe was one of the singers on "New York Rock n' Soul Revue" (Donald Fagan), one of the best live albums you'll hear. She does a stunning version of the classic "At Last" as well as a great cover of "Shaky Ground". She can really wail more than this clip would lead you to believe.

She is such a talented singer-songwriter and guitar player. Phoebe was sought after by many for her voice talent, but she had a special needs child she chose to concentrate all her time to. Yeah the lyrics are a bit loose, but it was the 70s the age of free love. hahahah. Thanks Shawn, your reactions are always delightful. I love how you have gotten to know the artists and their backstories. Who started where and how and when they moved on. You Rock

Phoebe's album 'SOMETHING REAL' is a beautiful masterpiece of singing. Songs like "'Something Real," "We May Never Feel This Way Again," "Soothi'," and "I'm Your Girl" are stunning. Hier vocals are out of this world. Trust me, Shawn, give Phoebe a few tries.

If/when you come back to Phoebe Snow, I highly recommend two studio cuts from her self-titled album: “Harpo’s Blues” and “Either or Both”. The entire A side of that album is fantastic, one of my top LP sides of all time. No weak spots at all. Thanks for giving Phoebe some attention, here. She was a special component of my 1970s musical experience.

I loved seeing her (and Jackson Browne) live in May 1975 in Davis' Freeborn Hall. I played her albums over and over. I particularly like her cover of the song Teach Me Tonight. It was very sad that she had to stop touring and basically gave up a promising career to care for her son who needed 24 hour a day attention. I adore her voice and her skill at playing with her range and the emotions conveyed.

Phoebe knows Paul Simon. I was introduced to her on Paul Simon's first debut solo album. She sang on his album on several tracks. Then she came out with her own single, "Poetry Man. " Then she came out with her own album. Great album.

First time I heard this it was on my FM car stereo - THE STUDIO TRACK - and it just halted my soul, to listen more intently. Definitely need to hear that studio cut! slower tempo, much more vibrato and she was younger. Love the female vocals - from 1973, check out Judy Collins' COOK WITH HONEY (True Stories and Other Dreams album), and SEND IN THE CLOWNS from the 1975 album Judith. Then there was Joan Armatrading and her 1976 hit LOVE AND AFFECTION from her self-titled 3rd album. And don't forget to listen to Joni Mitchell's entire album Hejira, from 1976, which begins with COYOTE and the unmistakable Bass tones of Jaco Pastorius (that whole album puts my soul on a coast-to-coast winter road trip).
