48 Crash is about male menopause. This footage of Suzi and her band is from a German TV show called Disco a lot of bands used to go on the show to promote their latest releases back in the 70's.

Ah, the 70's. Suzi's still going strong today.

The great band around her. Dave Neal on drums, her then husband Len Tuckey on guitar and Alastair MacKenzie on piano. She started out with her sisters in Pleasure Seekers. And her brother Michael are a songwriter and keyboard player. He released 11 albums between 1972-2005. Her sister Patti was a member of all female group Fanny and her sister Arlene are the mother of actress Sherilyn Fenn known for Twin Peaks.

Suzi Quatro, Joan Jet, and Lita Ford were up front in your face, and as Joan Jet sang, "... don't give a damn about my reputation." Suzi Quatro appeared as Leather Tuscadero on "Happy Days" and had a duet with Chris Norman on "Stumblin In". Lita Ford and Joan Jet were members of the all girl band "The Runaways" There have been other female rockers, but Suzi was first.

Before Joan and Lita, there was Suzi Quatro (not in The Runaways 1975-1979) and the first all-female rock band Fanny. Fanny was the first to record albums on a major label, Reprise Records 1970-1973. They were the first to tour extensively as well. Reprise Records was founded by Frank Sinatra. David Bowie loved them, and The Beatles let them record a version of Hey Bulldog in their studio, and add a verse. Check out their "Place In The Country" and other songs on the Beat-Club channel.

I cannot remember Suzi Quatro ever being in The Runaways. Lots of her heavy hits were made by the duo Chinn/Chapman who wrote also many hits for The Sweet. I saw on KZbin a recent performance by Suzi Quatro with Andy Scott of the Sweet on guitar.

@@erickvermeulen9734 You are absolutely correct, Suzi was not a member of the Runaways. That was supposed to read Lita Ford and Joan Jet. My apologies to all for this lapse of concentration.

@@jamestaylor3429 No problem, we had some exciting female rock in that area, next came the Bangles.

@erickvermeulen9734 let's not forget Ann and Nancy Wilson. Like my coach used to say, "ya gotta have Heart, miles and miles of Heart". The Indigo Girls, Dusty Springfield, and Janis Joplin deserve a mention.

Check out the all women rock band Fanny, Agnete. They were really fantastic. They were the first female group to be signed to a major record label (1970), played their instruments well and wrote their own songs. They had two top 40 hits, too! They influenced many women who followed 🎉

If you like Suzi, I would recommend having a listen to an all female band called Fanny. They really rocked! Some great videos of them from the German TV show Beat Club, including Blind Alley,, Young and Dumb, Special Care and Place in the Country. Funnily enough Suzi's sister, Patti, was in a later lineup of the band.

About the song meaning there's an interpretation that says it's about men suffering sexual impotence, since it usually hit at the age of 48, but not sure if it's true.
