Yeah. Lived here 20 years, our village has maybe 30-40 people. Nobody has ever come over. We speak to the older ones while they're passing walking their dogs etc but the newer ones that recently moved here, we do not speak to. Since they can afford the prices of these houses they're obviously posh gits (with his range rover) so completely different class to us peasant farmers. 😂 We call him Dick, he doesn't slow down for the horses and doesn't thank you if you move off the road to let him past. Tip!. If your partner normally cooks, then one night they can't be stuffed. What your partner actually needs is for you to cook. Takeaway or a restaurant would have been organised if that is what is wanted. But spending 3or4 days of food budget, still having to organise and decide what to eat, and if you go out there's that whole extra stress, even if it's nice. Sometimes the main cook just needs someone else to decide the food and to have a little love given back through being cooked for.
@shonabray5443 жыл бұрын
This is so true. It's the lack of decision making that is infuriating. "It's the weekend dear, I'll make dinner. What did you have planned?" 🤯

Sometimes there is a damn good reason one person is in charge of cooking and not the other. My family would always prefer to eat out rather than get my rubbish food xD Also...remember that the one who doesn't cook often does other chores or earn the most money. Spending some of that money on good food is a way to show love as well :)

He may take an equal part in raising his children and may just be referring to when he is alone with his kids as babysitting, but let's not pretend that it was part of the joke. The joke was in no way focused on him babysitting or on that role. We can't know his actual family dynamics but a lot of people use that phrase because they consider it only women's responsibility to take care of children and them taking care of them is helping out or doing a favour or babysitting. If you wouldn't refer to her taking care of the kids on her own as babysitting, calling it that when he does it is revealing of how you view their actions. Or at least how society views their actions and that you are picking up on a common phrasing. People can appreciate his humour while also trying to point out to him that some of his phrasing is inappropriate if he wants to be an equal partner in parenthood (which it seems that he does.)
@graceygrumble3 жыл бұрын
@@icarusgotooclose Well, where I live, in the north east, both mams and dads will say they're 'baby-sitting', if they can't go somewhere because their spouse has arranged to be out that night. So, it didn't irk me in the slightest when he said he was 'baby-sitting'.

Had to take out the trash after supper today. It was windy and pitch black outside. Had to use a torch. That is scary when you might see glowing eyes in the dark - no problem, the cat was by the house. Anyway, in front of the house is a fairly large lawn, maybe 700 square meters with 7 apple trees and before that two large conker trees (I am Swedish, is this an english word?). The large trees are currently losing their leaves and I hope that was what I heard, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure there was a moose I scared away while it was munching away on apples. My torch didn't illuminate an animal, but it could have been there. There were omnious sounds. Also, the first animal sound Michael is making is probable an owl.

Oh man I wonder if he’s ever heard a vixen in heat at his new place. They are horrifying. Was on the deck of a rented vacation home on the edge of PEI, pitch black, thousands of crystal clear gorgeous stars, and then from afar the sound of a woman‘s blood curdling scream as if she’s being murdered. Scared the shit out of me, had to google it quick to stop myself from calling 911 because I was sure someone was being murdered by the sea

I heard foxes most nights when I lived in London. I rarely hear them now I'm in the country.

In the past I thought it would be fun to visit Australia. Until I heard of the dangerous critters.

@@mickboyce386, I know. I shouldn’t be such a coward. My son and his girlfriend visited there. They loved it.
