The volleyball one is so funny to me. They just accidently stumbled upon a level 80 Raid Boss in the form of a family who is very good at volleyball. I can only imagine them beating you sitcom style where you don't score a point, get hit with the ball a couple times and at the end are just on the floor tired and bruised.

Here's my theory, teacher wanted creepy dude to stop hitting on their daughter. She also wants her student's to produce good work though so his passion is a great natural encouragement for him to git gud at English. Chances are our learned a lot about Shakespeare and just writing more generally! And finally, she's talked about the upcoming event with her daughter at home and likely even helped develop the clear and concise and relatively gentle line to shut it all down, "I don't like Shakespeare and I don't like you that way." Now as for the note after? Dunno bout that one chief, looks like the situation was already under control XD
@alecbormia45232 жыл бұрын
@@2LettersSho problem is even if that’s true that’s a horrible way to handle it. Once the student came to the teacher and expressed interest in their daughter the teacher should have just said something right there instead of dragging it out and letting the guy humiliate himself. It’s not that hard But also if they’re in 7th grade it’s kinda messed up that the teacher wouldn’t even let something happen between the two. Like if they think her daughter hadn’t thought about that sort of thing at all they’re delusional

Coney, for the Juliet story, there's one way I could believe it's real: the teacher told their daughter about it and asked how they wanted it to be handled. Juliet could've been annoyed enough at OP that they actually were fully prepared for the entire poem and wanted the opportunity to reject them publicly.

You mentioned in the volleyball story that they probably got into the sport because of anime. But the fact that there was an entire family that was into volleyball with a net already set up to crush them to dust is such an anime thing to happen for the writer to become stronger. The family was their rival team they had to defeat at the finals

As a guy who works for the school system who is friends with a number of teachers (including English teachers), that story is almost certainly legit. I have a friend who is an English teacher that had a running gag with his department head, because he knew she didn't ascribe to some theory about a Shakespearean tragedy. I think it's the "Hamlet is dead" theory, maybe? Doesn't matter. He kept telling his students to bring it up when they took her class, because he taught juniors and she taught seniors. He thought it was cute and a funny little joke between them. Turns out, she thought of it as harassment for literal years, did not think to tell him, put a harassment claim forward with the school board the year before she retired. How do I tie into this story? The year she retired, she left me a large catalogue of books, because I actually had her class (not his though) and I was one of her favorite students. A few years later, I was helping the school out by subbing (this is prior to me being employed there full-time) and I found out this story from him and how it led to her not leaving him all of the teaching materials she was supposed to. Turns out, she left me the teaching materials instead, screwing him (her replacement as English department head) over for several years. I gave them to him, and so he finally was able to use them. Moral of the story? English teachers can be mad petty for no reason, and sometimes they have pretty f'd up senses of humor.

2:45 The awkwardness of asking for someone's name can be avoided at any time with the excuse of: I'm trying to memorize it; It may take a few times. I remember a time I've had a friend for about 7 years now and for the first 6 months. I couldn't remember their name because I got it confused for so many other names. It was hard for me to remember and so I would misremeber their name; usually trying to avoid needing to say it as much as possible. Only asking every other week or so until I remembered it. It sucked. Moral of the story is people usually prefer being called by their name. If your reason for asking it again is to avoid saying "hey you", they usually will oblige.

For the forgetting the name story, literally just force yourself into a scenario where you have to say her name. Either it will come to you in that moment, or you own up to it and turn it into a humorous situation, because you’ve somehow managed to completely forget her name in 5 minutes and that’s pretty funny. I promise it’s a win-win situation if you play your cards right, also owning up to mistakes is 1000x more based than wallowing in them in silence for years on end
