Really cool! You deserve it. Do yourself a favor and paint that rotary cut red oak with acrylic or polyurethane paint for cabinets as opposed to latex and definitely not clear varnish. I'm a cabinetmaker and those doors and face frames are kinda hard to look at as built. So many competing woods that a light neutral color on the cabinets, like a "dirty white" paint color, would diffuse light better, brightening the room and let the other woods be appreciated. Great content as usual

Great that yer taking your time searching through lumber to identify the select pieces. It truly makes a huge difference in a build. I personally prefer Lowe's. Might cost a nitch more, but I think most will agree that their raw materials are higher quality compared to HD

Derek, you're like my dear old dad. Every trip to the lumber yard when I was a kid was like a detective show trying to find the straightest boards. hours and I ain't kidden' Excellent workmanship all way round on the new bathroom, congratulations.
@CCRider5312 Жыл бұрын
I’ve always had to do the exact same thing. Because when Lowe’s or Home Depot say this is #1 Grade Lumber they lying thru their teeth. Only a percentage in that stack of lumber really qualifies as Grade 1. Because Every stack of 1000 Grade 1 lumber boards there’s probably only 250 boards that’s good enough to actually call #1 Grade, the rest is #2 or #3 Grade junky lumber. Like Derek showing that lumber that still had the Tree 🌲 Bark on it. So your dad was just looking for the best Grade pieces to make his projects worth the cost of the lumber. With that being said: I Gotta say your Dad was only trying to get his moneys worth. That’s a Smart man 😁👍🏼

Great video, nice hath build. Btw you are missing a lens cover in Jessica's truck. Moving the gas tank out is always a good call. On the cold blooded, a lot of that is manual choke vs. this new/old thing that costs just a little more on your carb purchases, it is called "an electric choke". Wink. Lol Not sure why a lot of guys buck the extra $20 bucks for that fangled electric thing-a-ma-gig, opting to fight with cold start manual choke for years? But the EFI you were speaking of, that is the ticket.

Bathroom and all looks great. As far as EFI in Longmire, I've got a Sniper on my '70 C10 longbed stepside that has a 250 with 3 on the tree. Boyd Welding tank, Aeromotive in-tank pump, head was decked, added a lump kit, and went with 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. It has an Offenhauser intake and Hedman long tube headers. It can sit for months, then go turn the key and it lights right up. Runs well and hasn't given me any issues. I still need to put a cam in it to take advantage of the larger valves and lump kit, and then get it properly tuned.
