C'est un animal solitaire qui occupe un territoire chevauchant quelques territoires plus petits occupés chacun par une femelles. Il marque soigneusement son domaine avec des jets d'urine, gratte les troncs d'arbres, frotte sa fourrure sur les buissons et repousse ses rivaux en dehors. Pour s'accoupler, il doit appeler femelle en chaleur, vivant dans ou autour de son domaine, avec un "appel de sciage", un son guttural.

It looks like a jaguar. This Gabon leopard’s are more robust with larger skulls than their savanna counterparts
