Ah, Pete, You got rid of that great Sig P226? That was a good one! You are very lucky to have found that p228. Not even available here in California yet. Hope you can find some ammo to get to the range. It;s in very short supply here and you will pay a pretty penny if you can even find it! Good Luck!

Hey Pete, love the new Sig Brotha. I too love Sigs (& all other guns) I own the p229, p225, & p239 for conceal. In one of your previous vids you said you were getting a new pistol (Sig) for conceal, I thought you would get the P938, since you're such a 1911 fan. But the p228 is a great choice, & rare to boot. Congrats!

Bought one on the 3rd and took it to the range last Friday and Sunday. Love it. Thought you might have been hinting about it the other day. Enjoy! The only problem is it's hard to back fill your ammo supply if you like to shoot a lot.

I understand the m11a1 is a 9mm btw. It is just the frame was designed with the .40 in mind. Hence why the m11-a1 is an improvement over the original m11. You receive a couple extra rounds in the new version because of the larger frame. You also receive coated internals for rust resistance in salt water conditions. This is carried by pilots and special ops who need less weight/low drag rigs (Navy EOD for one). With that design in mind it made it the perfect CCW gun. Good review and Thank You.

hit the nail on the head. you gain 2 rounds I believe and the new short reset trigger that is slightly lighter double action pull and a very consistant and glock-esque short reset. The reason for the frame change: the P229 was designed around the .40 and marketed for law enforcement/popular demand for .40sw by the public. It was a good improvement, although slightly more top heavy then my old pinned slide P228.

Those are some awesome little pistols. The Texas Highway Patrol issues those puppies out to it's troopers, and I am friends with a few of the troopers back home. They are some sweet little honies to shoot.

Pete awesome gun bro .Looks like the video cut out in mid of a statement about the night sights . SIG Just introduced a SIG P 227 today in 45 ACP . 10 +1 in a 3.9 barrel and 14 in the full-size 4.5 inch model both have Rails and are very cool . I am kinda digging the 45 SIG too. The compact looks to be the same size as the 228 just in 45 acp .

i have 80 series 226. i carry every day. with +P+ 14 round mag 2 factory original .. i live in california but its all good pre-ban.. hehe heavy duty +P+ spring reloads and i will tell you what ... iam only 25 years old but ive been reloading since i was 6..i love my OEM GERMANY SIG . dont get me started on my 1911 gold cups 80 series ... my pops was a FFL selling out of our house legit . so i thnk iam a lucky California youngster .. .

congrats on the 228 pete. I have 2 w German and they are my favorite, look into a Hogue wrap around grip. by the time you put 1k rounds down range you will be in total love! you wont ever want to shoot your Glocks again

I actually picked up ine of these on the 17th. I had no idea what an M11-A1 was. At first glance i thought it was an older 229 being that there was no rail. After talking to the salesman at my lgs I realized that this is basically what the MK 25 is to the 226 in a smaller package. I don't really care about the way they are marketing or advertising this gun, all I know is that is basically has every thing that I was looking for and nothing that I did not want.

Correct. It is not a P228. I own one and called Sig to confirm. Sig has it listed on their website as a P229-1.

I am planning on getting a LEM Light trigger done to one to see if that helps . The first Da shot for me is off and better in SA . But in the HK pro forums they say that the P2000s are combat pistols not target match pistols with a 3.66 barrel . How ever the P30 L is a great target gun or duty gun but to big for EDC for me and most . That is whats so cool about H&ks you can make them how you want them Da Sa Lem reg or Lem Light with a 5.5 trigger pull . lots of options for you....

Nice Sig Pete, you may not believe me, but Charcoal Lighter fluid works wonders on removing cosmoline. Three bucks for a quart. Can't beat it for cosmoline removal by hand.

I have 2 H&K P2000 s one in 9 mm and 40 . Love them both and have a 45 c on the way . I did want the sig 228 and 229 but couldnt find them in October so I went with the H&k s they are light and reliable in my book . But with less then 500 though each i hope i get more accurate with them . I am having a bit of muzzle flip which i need to correct I guess the light weight is some of it and the rest is me . hopefully I get better in time . Both H&K and SIG are the best you can get in combat pistols

A P229 holster will work with the P229, only difference between the 2 is the 229 has a rail and squared trigger gaurd. I have both and use the same holsters and magazines. MetGar makes Sigs mags, so if you need more mags get MetGar they work flawlessly

I bought the same M11 A1. I don't care if its not an original 228. It a modern version with better slide, better trigger and 15 rounds. The acton is butter smooth. What's not to like? Nothin like a Sig.
