I loved your jnterview with Luke Roberts, it came at a perfect time when I was looking for some more content from Luke about his performance! getting to hear from him directly about the process of playing such a complicated character like James, and seeing how he actually understands his character, was really cool to see.

I think Luke is describing the scene in the first announcement trailer. The heavy breathing that cuts when the amnesia settles in, the fact he flicks his focus to the camera (back then his eyes were still visible).. He said he hadn´t familiarized himself with the original, and therefor the character of James yet. Now I wonder if they filmed several versions in one go, or if he was asked back to redo the scene since they ended up doing the face touching scene differently.

Face retouching is done differently, it doen't need a redo of recording. All the data were already taken by that recording. But the heavy breathing still exists in the main game, he has been breathing heavily and was looking at his hands and then looks at the mirror. So it was done the way Luke describes

@@BehindTheVoicePod If you take a look at the announcement trailer, you can hear his breathing which was then cut out in the final. He also doesn´t storm into the bathrooms as originally was planned. And he says he looked at himself in the mirror and then turned his eyes to look directly into the camera. The lighting was changed from the first trailer though so it can´t really be seen if they went with that. And with face "retouching" I assume you mean the fact they remodeled his face? I meant that the way he acted that scene was different. He originally touched his cheek and nowhere near his eye.

@@KermaPippuri Yup you are right. But here's the difference. Nowadays, what is shown in the trailer isn't what shown in the game. I've seen this in a few games now where the trailer shows a scene but the game shows it different. My answer still stays the same. When an actor is brought up to record scene, they don't record 1 scene, get that done right and move on. They record variations just so that they have everything they want including new ideas, so they can experiment. Because bringing actors over and over again, wastes the actor's time, their time and their money. We don't know what was going in their head. Could be possible that they wanted to make a new variation and that's what you saw in the announcement trailer and then because of the fan backlash, went with the original way. Maybe, they kept this new idea just for the trailer and kept the original for the game
