Lyrics:
We are the youth
We'll take your fascism away
We are the youth
Apologise for another day
We are the youth
And politicians are so sure
We are the youth
And we are knocking on death's door
Never knew we were living in a world
With a mind that could be so sure
Never knew we were living in a world
With a mind that could be so small
Never knew we were living in a world
And the world is an open court
Maybe we don't want to live in a world
Where innocence is so short
We'll make it up to you
in the year 2000 with...
Never knew we were living in a world
With a mind that could be so sure
Never knew we were living in a world
With a mind that could be so small
Never knew we were living in a world
And the world is an open court
Maybe we don't want to live in a world
Where innocence is so short
We'll make it up to you
In the year 2000
Build it up for you
In the year 2000
Make it up to you
In the year 2000
Build it up for you
In the year 2000 with you
Never knew we were living in a world
With a world that could be so sure
Never knew we were living in a world
With a mind that could be so small
Never knew we were living in a world
And the world is an open court
Maybe we don't want to live in a world
World who cares at all
We'll make it up to you
In the year 2000
Build it up for you
In the year 2000
Make it hard for you
In the year 2000
Build it up for you
In the year 2000
Make it hard for you
In the year 2000
Build it up for you
In the year 2000 with you

I worked on this clip. When the water cannon and smoke kicks in thats what I was involved in. It's spooky how this song / clip were so ahead of the time. Considering whats gone on during 2020 / 2021 Silverchair certainly had a crystal ball.

@@TXRaze lol, another generation will misinterpret the lyrics to these songs and send us spiraling into fascism. "do what i say, drive a battery powered car that is fueled by cobalt harvested by actual slaves, forced to do it by China who we pay for that cobalt distancing us from the crime so we can wash are hands of the whole ordeal and drive our cars that will kill not only small African children and sickly mothers forced to harvest the rare earth mineral that is 1000000000x harder to get than oil, it will also burn because it volatile under pressure like pressure from a car accident it will burn off so much toxic chemical anyone standing near the flames will develop cancer almost immediately. nothing like paying taxes to save the world, I live in Chinada aka Canada. it now cost me more to buy a tomato from the greenhouse down the street than it does to buy it from costco and that one come from mexico, 2500 miles away. rage doesnt solve anything, critical thinking does. hitting my wife wont teach her to put sugar in my coffee. but making my own coffee may solve my sugar issue. vote for the smarter candidate that will lower taxes and keep their hands off the kids.

@@swapode Idk abt that actually, I mean (most) my generation definately is moving its butt for change but climate change for exemple ? It’s been known since the 70’s, yet ppl my age are still buying fast fashion clothes and all that shit. Social/racial injustice and sexism that, a 100%. We want a change but older generations are still rascist and sexist (and their kids are too !!). But its gotten worse with smartphones and the internet, everyone hates on everybody, we don’t read books anymore, nor take the time to sink into an activity. Even that new thing ‘dark kitchens’ ? Ppl don’t even take the time to make food ! Everything’s fast, then forgotten, then critisized. I’m kinda freaked out. Talking abt the themes of this song, the world rn um.. Ukraine, Fckin Russia, thank god Macron has been re elected instead of Marine LePen (I’m from France) that rascist extremist buttonhead otherwise I would’ve thrown myself off a cliff. And still, Macron is gonna screw up the system with new laws like the age you retire and reglementations (maybe you’ve heard of ‘les gilets jaunes’). I guess I’m just young and have to accept this world will forever have a problem, just like daniel thought writing this song and just like thousands before him. Never the less, I’ll definately keep on rockin to this band and era ✨
