I think a very important meta-value that companies often forget or are unaware of (which leads to their downfall when not applied) is "we are here to do _____, but the way we do it can change".

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 📜 *Importance of Writing Down Company Values* - Writing down company values is crucial to remind and reinforce the foundational principles. - Accountability is enhanced when values are documented, serving as a reference point. - Values should be actionable and focused on actions employees can take, avoiding abstract nouns. 01:15 📝 *Manifestos for Company Vision* - Company manifestos are essential for articulating the vision and commitment to a future world. - Manifestos should transcend products or services, emphasizing a broader purpose. - Examples like Barry-Wehmiller highlight defining success by impacting lives, not just through products. 02:39 🌐 *Aligning Company Causes with Manifestos* - Manifestos should focus on causes that resonate universally, beyond the company's interests. - Examples of effective manifestos involve helping individuals, challenging the status quo, and promoting escapism. - The alignment of company causes with manifestos attracts employees who identify with those values. I agree! Values written down become values that we can act on. I love how plainly you put it. They are very much like underlying motivators and definitely important for all businesses and entrepreneurs.

The value shall be actionable and doable stated in writing so everybody will understand. Instead of saying "being honest," Say: "Always tell the truth," Instead of saying to be innovative, Say: "Look at the problem from different angles"

A company really can‘t be led by people who just want to get the money fast. The most successful ones are the ones that are authentic and touching the souls of people. But for that you need to have a soul first

I just finished reading a review on a company I used to work for. It was not good! The previous president spoke, walked, lived and breathed honest values to his employees and to the clients. The core values of the company, were practiced as a culture. Then the reins were handed over to his son, and the values changed to the "bottom line." A culture that takes the "human" out of the equation, for both the employee and the clients.🤔

Honesty is a value!

It’s more of a virtue. And the problem with honesty is that it should be assumed as a bare minimum to do the right thing
@moeftw67922 жыл бұрын
@@herefordjohnson9258 it is a value specially in the west because most of the times honesty gets in the way of people's ability to generate the maximum amount of money they can earn. most people will be dishonest to get away with things. also you saying that honesty is a bare minimum in the western society is inaccurate because if that was the case then the world woulda been a better place by now.

I've been with the corporate sector long enough to know that most companies don't give a damn about living upto their values, as stated in their Vision n Mission statements. Most adopt such lofty values that it's simply too idealistic. But, corporate sector driven by profits and 'value' for its shareholders needs strong values the most, considering all these mega scams n scandals tumbling out from there so often. People n organisations with the most power n wealth ought to abide by the most stringent values, to prevent / rein in delinquency n perversion.

I belive its to do with culture . where did you work in india its a differnet story but if you are in europe seriously they do follow the values properly.. it depends on place you work .. also even in india if its a good company they will have good values.

@@pauljohny200 I've worked with firms part of the most respected business conglomerates in India, yet I commented earlier on poor adherence to the company's values by its top management team itself. Some have been sacked for their indiscretions too.

not all "religions" have books, for example, the Native Americans passed their stories from ear to mouth generation after generation, including the way of life, culture, insertions, connection to the land, and connection to higher powers (what you call incorrectly, religion). all the notion of religion is "punishment and reward" (except Judaism because Judaism is not a religion).
@LD-wf2yt2 жыл бұрын
List of “values” is meanigless. You have to earn them first. They are your achievements. Try to answer i.e. understand: What could cause each value to fail? Alternatively, create a scorecard for each value, define worst/best case, then add several progressive stages. Use a River Chart to identify trends/changes. Finally, identify (google) characteristics of high performing teams, and challenge everybody to live be guided by those - values. Tip: read the book “How to use the power of prayer” by Joseph Murphy and beware of the world filled with the Streetlight Effect theories.

1:42 And i dont man, i feel this it's a misinterpretation, overthinking or arguing over semantics, THEY ARE values. What you want are more specification to see if both sides match in their idea of those words. All this argument feels very silly.
