Singapore Chinatown celebrates Chinese New Year 2022 农历新年逛牛车水. This is the Year of the Tiger and this is the 3rd CNY in Singapore during the Covid-19 pandemic. The street market is coming to life after another year of lockdowns. Tourists are largely absent and the visitors are locals and residents. The popular Chinatown Food Street has closed permanently due to lack of business as a result of the Covid restrictions.

So nice to hear from you. Haha. I went again this evening to film the tiger lanterns. The crowd at Pagoda - Trengganu Streets is at pre covid level. All locals and residents with hardly any tourists. Authorities need to step in before Omicron steps in.

Hi Mr, Babu, under normal circumstances, smoking at public open places is allowed (except hospital grounds, schools etc). But under Covid restrictions, you have to wear a mask except when eating or drinking, so smoking is not allowed. There's an army of 'Safe Distancing ambassadors' who are watching and booking people who don't follow the rules. Orchard Road has a unique rule. You can only smoke in designated yellow boxes amongst the side streets. Thanks for supporting my channel.

@@tonyheng9167 Tony, I get your point. People watch to see, hear and also feel the ambience. In this case I had to balance the need to monetise or bring immersive experience to my viewers. I made the decision to add music because some of the commercial music played by the shops were very recognisable ones. By the way, I paid around US$100 for the royalty free music used in this video. I have to weigh this factor again when I make my next Chinatown video closer to CNY. Thanks for your understanding. Please do continue to watch my videos.
