I really really like that tight nasal bridge pickup sound, so I will probably get the vintage 5S with . . . Do you recommend the alder body or the ash? I know you said ash body with maple fb was your fave wood combination. But how are 1st and 2nd gen alike and different? I know the older ones are a fair amount less expensive, and I think the pickups are a little different or something... what else?

Eddie I have trouble deciding M 2 ( I can get a maple fret board in it which is my preference ) and V3 ( I can only get rosewood in it) .. ... my query is about humbucker vs single coil .If I had to buy only one out of two which doesn't feel out of place in song mixes ( I heard jazz basses don't have that bottom end compared to humbuckers ) and yet stands out ( humbuckers at times get lost in mix in smaller speakers) ... So what would it be which is perfect combination of 1.weight 2.fretboard 3.tonal versatility ( I know it's subjective but can cover as many genres as possible ) in that price range if it's only bass ?

Many people complained about weigh of first generation, how's second one, is it to heavy for neck and shoulders as well or they have reduced it? I heard they have but is it significant?

I've recently started looking at the Sire V7 lineup but was planning on buying a MIM Fender Deluxe. The Sire basses sound amazing but the J p/u buzzing would be an issue. Is the buzzing louder on your Vintage or something you've noticed on all of them?

Did you get yours special from Sire? Are you sure that’s an Ash body??? On their site, Arctic White is available only on the Alder body. Ash bodies come in White Blonde which, imo, isn’t as pretty. Not that it matters in my case. As an older player, weight is a factor when choosing an instrument, so I’m grabbing the Alder 4 string version. BTW, much respect on the review-well thought out and informative.🙂✌🏾❤️🎶
