I made this recipe and ate it last night and again tonight! So freaken delicious and easy. The only difference is that I just used 2lbs of beef and I also browned the meatballs just for a min before putting it in the crockpot . I just boiled spaghetti on the side and mixed all together. This was a huge hit ! Thank you so much for sharing this! Much love ❤️

Yeah, browning the meatballs first before the crockpot sounds good.

This is a great recipe. I live in the far east and the beef can be a bit dodgy to say the least, however I used all pork, and substituted the Parsley with Italian herbs (dried). My slow cookers are a godsend. The only problem is my Thai wife and family have taken a great liking for your recipes. Keep up the good work mate.
@amritagill16806 жыл бұрын
Another GREAT recipe. I followed your instructions. The only thing I changed is browning the meatballs on each side for 1-2 minutes then adding them to the slow cooker. I also added 4 cloves of crushed garlic on top of the powdered garlic listed in the recipe. I used extra aged white cheddar cheese to fill the meatballs. I think it is best to use lean beef and pork as you suggested. THANK YOU.

Hello from California, I love your videos and am so happy you are doing better! I love getting notifications that you have a new video out. Short and sweet and to the point. I've made these in the oven, but never in a slow cooker, can't wait to try it.

David, thank you. This looks so good! With all due credit to you, I'm going to try this with a couple of minor variations and serve it with a crisp green salad on the side. My idea for the sauce (a couple of extra steps but still super easy) would be to puree a quantity of fresh vine-ripened tomatoes in a blender, plop the puree right into the slow cooker (we call it a crockpot), toss in some diced green pepper (capsicum, I believe you call it in Australia), some fresh chopped white onion, add maybe a cup or two of water to account for reduction, all in order to create a nice 'bath' (LOL) for the meatballs. Use of the fresh pureed tomatoes I think would result in a very flavorful but light sauce that would have us dreaming of our now frozen summer gardens (smiles). As for the meatball mixture, I would try in lieu of the garlic powder a small packet of my favorite dried onion/herb soup or dip mix? Yet the recipe exactly as you've demonstrated it, using a favorite jarred pasta sauce whether tomato or cheese based, would no doubt be absolutely delicious. Now that it has turned very chilly here in Michigan, with a not-too-gentle winter coming on, this will be a comforting warm dish to have! Thank you for all you do to encourage someone like me who isn't naturally very good cook! You are a very talented man. Many blessings to you. -Tom (USA)

+JOSETTE SANTOS The beauty of this one is you can use any pasta sauce you like. I tend to go with one with lots of garlic and vegetables, but a regular marinara or spaghetti sauce would also be good :)

Do you have any suggestions/recipes for a pasta sauce? I always try to make my own rather than using jar sauces, and I watched this video mostly out of curiosity about the sauce you were going to pair with the meatballs. I mean, the meatballs look fantastic, so I'm glad I saw that, too.
@motherofthedrummer8 жыл бұрын
I did too...I'm married to an Italian, so its tomato sauce from scratch for me. In a deep pan, pour about 3 to 4 tbsps of olive oil in the pan, chop a clove or 2 and sightly brown the garlic in the olive oil..when the garlic is brown, carefully pour fresh tomatoes (pulsed in a blender) in the pan, add oregano to taste, sliced green pepper, Italian parsley, a pinch of salt & about a tbsp of sugar...let simmer on med heat. This recipe is from a small village where my mother in law grew up as in child Italy. Hope u enjoy!! :)

Hi Tesla. See my comment of late to David (the One Pot Chef) about using fresh pureed tomatoes, etc., in lieu of jarred sauce? I haven't tried it yet, but it should work just fine, 'cause that's how I basically make fresh tomato sauce on the stove top. Anyway, just sharing, with all the credit for this delicious looking recipe going to Chef David in Australia. Blessings...
