PEDAS and CRISPY! 🔥🔥This week, I'll be cooking the famous Smashed Fried Chicken or also known as Ayam Geprek. Any of you know why is it called Ayam Geprek?! 🤔
Ingredients:
Chicken thighs
Instant Fried Chicken flour
Chillies - 6 nos
Bird eye chillies - 12 Nos
Shallots - 6 Nos
Garlic - 7 Cloves
Shrimp paste
Spring onion - 6 Stalks
Tomato - 1
Squeeze of lime

0:36 geprek like ayam geprek comes from the dutch. The dutch ar known for smashing their food take stamppot and boerenkool or hutspot all are mixed smashed vegtables with mashed pattatoo the dutch took this custom with them to indonesia and did it to the indonesian chicken. In dutch prakken means smashing food. Geprakt means its already smashed and with a indonesian accent it turns into geprak wich changed geprek.

You mean the shrimp paste?? Hmm it’s kinda the back bone of the sambal though. But if it’s something you’re allergic too, you can omit it and use fried anchovies. The taste would be different but it’ll add the umami it needs for the sambal. Hope this helps
